I was very pleased with my stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Anchorage. I stayed there for two weeks on business in August '07 and for a couple of days in February '08, and for both stays I had nothing but a positive experience.

Advantages:
* Rooms in new or like-new condition
* High-speed Internet (wireless and ethernet are both available)
* Complimentary Breakfast
* Courteous Staff
* Self-service Laundromat on site

Disadvantages:
* Nothing about the hotel itself, but it is located in Spenard neighborhood of Anchorage and not Downtown Anchorage, so if you are looking to do business in downtown, you'd need to rent a car, take a taxi, or take public transit to get to downtown. However, there is plenty of parking space at the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel after flying alaska airlines from fairbanks. The complimentary hotel shuttle was very prompt. I also checked in earlier with no additional costs. The room was very clean and the view of the alaskan mountains were beautiful! The pool was very hot and humid, not good for people with asthma. The breakfast served in the morning was okay. Plenty of parking available. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends ,etc.

This property is very close to the airport which is nice if you are arriving late and want to be close to the airport. We were picked up in a shuttle owned by a different hotel and was a little confused as the driver didn't let us know that it was also for the Holiday Inn Express. Once we arrived, the staff was nice and friendly but not informative about the area. We had to take a taxi to downtown and back twice which became expensive, we found out about the bus after getting downtown on the last trip. The room was average and well stocked with towels. However the bed appeared to still have the same sheets on it from the previous guest as there were lots of hair under the pillows that did not belong to either of us. We mentioned it to the front desk but nothing was done. It was noisy during the night as guest would walk down the hall talking, I guest the walls are paper thin.
The breakfast was good and more choices than expected. We also requested for our priority points but was denied due to a $10 discounted rate. Our next trip will not have this hotel in our plans.

An above average property, for the price
