Many of the tavernas shut down over winter but Neramilos is open all year and frequented by locals as well as visitors who have heard about it - as it's out of the main village area by nearly a kilometre. It offers a genuine family-run greek taverna experience and usually excellent food. The family are a delight if occasionally slightly chaotic (the place gets very busy). The menu is wide with most of the greek staples, although it doesn't offer fresh fish like the harbour tavernas. The quality of the cooking can be stratospheric as was the case with the freebie starter of curried chicken, the fried courgettes and the over-baked goat meat. The courtyard setting is very pretty and convivial, particularly when the local busking band turn up and whip up pure Greek atmosphere!
