Did a day trip from Chicago to St. Louis to do some sight seeing and catch a St. Louis Blues game, but the game would end at 10PM, so I'd get back to Chicago pretty late. So prior to going decided to book a hotel half way between both cities. Decided on Springfield, IL. Looked here on Tripadvisor for some recommendations. Did not want to spend a lot of money on a room, as I was only using it to sleep for a couple of hours. Saw that Motel 6 was rated #3 in Springfield, IL. Was a little hesitant at first, but the over all experience was good. Booked the hotel via their site and got it for $45 dollars. Hotel is right off Interstate 55. There is a restaurant next door to the property, a couple of gas stations and a McDonald's in the area. Checked in after midnight, so had to check in via a small bank teller like window, with bulletproof glass. A little imposing, but understandable for a business open 24 hours right off the highway. Free parking and lots of available space. Took the elevator to room. Room was bare bones. There was a table area, bed, night stand, coat rack with TV on top of coat rack. The bed was a comfortable queen size bed, pillows were a little flat. There is no alarm clock on the night stand. The ice/vending machine on the third floor are separated from the hallway. The next morning while leaving the hotel there was smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway/elevator, though the hotel is said to be a non-smoking facility. Check out was fast and easy. Would definitely stay here again for the price paid.

My daughter and I have stayed at Motel 6 Springfield approximately 40 times in the last 3 years and have found it to be exceptionally clean and quiet.
The staff from the front desk to the room maids and laundry help have been the friendliest I have found anywhere.
The whole crew is the BEST!

I'm a frequent business traveler to Springfield, Illinois and I've stayed at most of the hotels/motels in town. I always return to this Motel 6.

The rooms are clean and the facility is less than 8 years old. Amenities are very basic, but this is more than offset by the price, value, quality, safety and convenient location of the motel. Although located 7 or 8 miles from downtown, access to downtown and all the attractions is easy. There are several fast food and chain casual dining restaurants within walking distance. The outdoor pool is an added "bonus" to a great lodging value in a city where lodging (and taxes) run high and many other facilities are much older and less well maintained than this outstanding Motel 6.

I was in Springfield visiting family in hospital. Hotels in Springfield area are pricey. Husband back home researched local hotels and came across Motel 6. I just wanted someplace to shower and get a safe good nights rest. He booked it on line for a GREAT rate. Interior corridor is a must!!! Three floors and has elevator and outdoor pool. Was very clean. Room was perfect!. There was no hair dryer (fine cuz I always bring my own) and no alram clock (again no problem cuz i bring my own). Room did not have big dresser wasting space nor table. Instead had a very nice counter that had two chairs pulled up to it with a couple shelfs for items. T.v was mounted high on top of shelf above a small clost so it was very easy to see. Was a smaller tv then some other larger chains have, but that was fine. I wasnt there to watch tv. Bed was very comfy with 2 very nice big pillows. The bathroom was very large and I loved the shape of the corner shower unit. During check in I noticed 2 patrol cars parked in the lot. Sister is local to the area and said the patrol training area is nearby. So we had 2 patrols staying over at the same hotel. Felt very safe. Air conditioner worked GREAT and hotel was VERY VERY quiet!!!!!. Never heard one footstep in the hallway. OH and they have ice machine and vending in a nice area seperated from the hall way and hotel room doors. I will be checking for Motel 6 locations for many more travel dates in my future.
