Great location to visit the Lincoln sites! Staff is very friendly. Hotel is clean, although a little dated. There was some type of convention at the hotel the weekend we were there and they upgraded up to the top floor so we'd be away from the noisy conventioners. Would certainly stay here again.

We were with a group in Springfield for a funeral. The location of the hotel was great but we were unimpressed with the facility and staff. The attention to detail is really lacking. It doesn't take much to have a checklist for the employees of when to dust public areas or when to do touch up painting. We found most of the employees to be uninterested in the guests (and we are very nice people). This is a sign of management that isn't present or doesn't care. Most guests will be happy if the staff is nice to them and the hotel is clean.

I found the hotel on the Springfield Visitors Bureau's website. I looked at other hotels for rates. This hotel seemed to be the best deal for location and price. The day before our trip, I happened upon TripAdvisor and was scarred by the reviews. I hoped things would be different for us. Sadly, they weren't. Again, while the location is great, the hotel is lacking. The staff was (w/the exception of our waitress) rude and sparse. The room smelled musty. The bathroom was poorly lit. The bed was low, stiff and lacked sufficient pillows for a king. There were hairs on surfaces. The on-command movie network had terrible reception. The hotel needs to be thoroughly updated, cleaned and re-staffed.

the place made my skin crawl- i wish that woulda been the only thing crawling. I thought i might b seeing dead bugs or droppings till my co worker came and looked - said one of them was an upside down bug struggling to get right side up (which is what the hotel should do).
