We was there to visit some friends who live in Chatam IL., not to far from there, and it was one of the worse hotels we have ever stayed in. The room wasn't too bad til we lifted up one of the beds. One of the box springs had a hole in it. The carpet near the elevator looked like it hadn't been vaccumend in a while. Then we went out to dinner and we got a call from them saying that our dog got out of the room. Now tell me, how in the world does a dog get out of a room on his own. My sons came up with the conclusion that he was eiter a super dog and became human and let himself out and then turned back into a dog or he jumped from the floor to the sink, then to the door, opened it up, and then went out it. Either story still doesn't work. So the only other thing is that the lady next to us got ticked off at the dog barking and someone went up there, got him, and then took him down stairs. I can tell you right now, I will not go back up there nor will I ever recomend any one else to stay there.

I had to attend a conference in Springfield, IL right after them enduring a hurricane. Most of the hotels were booked online so I started calling around. Unfamiliar with the area, I knew our Super 8 at home was fairly decent, was happy to hear there was a room available. I booked a double queen got 1 full size bed. Asked for additional towels and pillows and was blantantly told no. The comforter looked like it has blood stains, asked for another, and was told to bring it down and they would need to check it first. The hallways smelled not only of stale cigarettes but of urine. I would advise anyone who only has the option of staying here to sleep in their car because I surely will before stepping foot near this "whole in the wall".

After check in I went to the room and found it very unacceptable...There was paper and debris under the bed..Second the TV was not working and third where the smoke detector was only wires were hanging out of the wall, No smoke detector!!!! Due to their policy NO REFUNDS I demanded another room....I was given another room ...The next day we marked the sheets on the bed and we came back they had not changed the sheets...they sent someone up to change the sheets but I was told they only change the sheets every other day!!!...I had paid for 3 days and nights when I checked in and so due to NO REFUND I had no other choice but to stay there...On the third day when I came back my beds where stripped and when I went to the front desk I was told Sorry we have you checked out( even though I already paid for the third night)...I then asked for my money back on the third night and was told NO REFUNDS...I was so disgusted I decided to leave for home a day early...When I had gotten home I had bought my wife a bracelet and found it was missing from my luggage...

i've stayed at many super 8's all over the country and this is one of the two worst. we stayed 2 overnights/2 rooms and our keycard didn't work 4 times!/2 times in the other room. the 1st time was at checkin, the second time was the 1st morning. i took the card out to the desk and the manager told me they only work for one day. no i'm sorry or anything. each and every time i went out the desk to rectify the key situation, i was NEVER offered an apology! that's inexcusable! the final time the manager implied that i didn't know how to operate the door and wanted to come down to the room. i refused this due to the fact that it was 630am and i didn't want him waking anyone. also threadbare bedspreads thin, grey towels, a broken bedside light switch, and ice machines turned off at 10pm. crummy!
