Stayed here during the last weekend in February for a weekend convention. There was approximately 1800 in my group as well as other groups in the hotel.
The hotel was most crowded Friday night.
I arrived Friday evening to check-in at approximately 6:00 pm. I used the side parking entrance vs. the valet when it appeared that traffic was hectic trying to access the front of the hotel. I pulled in with no cars waiting. I entered the motor lobby and made my way upstairs to the hotel lobby. While there people everywhere, there was plenty of staff to direct and check everyone in. My room was in the 30's. Cant recall the exact floor. There was always a slight wait for the elevatory, but nothing major.
The in-house restuarants could not accomodate the crowds Friday night. The wait for food was extraordinary as the kitchens were all backed up and in some cases ran out of food. I ate at Sear twice. Saturday night dinner and Sunday brunch. Shrimp and grits and dinner were OK. Breakfast was awesome. I did not use room service.
Room was as expected for Marriott. Slept well each night with no internal or external noise to distract me. Did not use internet services.
When departing, you must go to motor lobby to get your car. There was a very long line that moved quickly. Was in line about 5 minutes and had my car no more than 5 minutes after turning in my ticket. Smooth exit for me! I note that it was a smooth exit for me but another friend's car was damaged when her car was retrieved. So a reminder to always check your car when using parking services. I often observe folks jump right in, and I do the same. I've started doing an extensive check of my vehicle before I leave the property wherever I am when using valet or parking services. sometimes you feel rushed because others are waiting. But take the minute and check your car!
I've stayed at this hotel previously and would again for a conference. Overnight parking is pretty steep and is managed by AAA. The entire staff was accomodating during the entire stay.
