We have just returned from a lovely one night stay at the eiders. We went with out two boys aged 7 and 4. We were made to feel very welcome, with cake and drinks on arrival. We were shown to the lovely family room, with double bed and two full size single beds. The beds were very comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. Everything was very clean. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, my husband especially liked the sausages. We would definately like to return again in the summer, as the boys would like to try the pool out.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay when we came to Norfolk for the Thursford Festival. Most impressed by the room not only offering tea and coffee making facilities but also having a fridge with fresh milk and providing a corkscrew and glasses. The breakfast was first rate with an excellent choice. Sadly as we only stayed one night and it was in December - we didn't get a chance to use the pool or walk around the grounds.

“A little gem in Norfolk”

The Eiders Bed and Breakfast

2 Nov 2007

Stayed here with my family including my 2 teenage sons in half term. Never stayed in a guest house with the whole family before; we've always gone self catering. We all loved it. No washing up - yay !!!

My son's had a lovely twin room with it's own balcony overlooking the duck pond with en suite shower room, we had the gorgeous blue room. The rooms were clean, quiet, warm, lovely comfy beds and bedding - in fact the standard was exceptionally high. The bathroom was high quality and extremely clean.

Breakfast was great. Huge choice on the menu plus fresh fruit, cereal, toast yoghurt etc. We honestly didn't require lunch because breakfast was substantial ! It was eaten in the dining room which was light and airy overlooking the duck pond. (Binoculars and bird identification books available for the twitchers amongst you !).

Lovely friendly warm welcome with a pot of tea and cakes served up in the dining room. What more could you want !

Thoroughly recommended.

“First Class”

Absolutely first class.

Beautiful room ( we had the luxury one with the four-poster bed) - top class shower room, TV etc., and a pot of tea on arrival, served by a smiling host.

The dining room is in one of the conservatories, and is very smart and comfortable. There's a big TV on quietly in the corner for those who want to see the news with their breakfast, of which there are various choices eg. full english, low fat and others. Fruit and cornflakes etc. as well.

You get your own room key so you can come and go as you please. Our room looked out over a pond which has a fountain and resident ducks (including Eiders) that quack gently around the place, and you can watch them from the balcony / deck that runs full length along the extension which houses three of the rooms.

Loads of trees surround it and the whole thing is very rural.

They have a heated pool but didn't get around to that.

There's a large pub not far down the road if you want it - wind up torches are provided in the rooms for getting around in the dark.

Parking is dead easy ( round the back ) and a garage is available for motor cycles !! - gravel drive, but OK.

If you go to stay in North Norfolk, get in here.

I spent the most wonderful long weekend as a Mum with three small children in this fantastic B&B. The couple owning the B&B were so helpful and kind, knew just what we needed, cooked just fabulous breakfasts which you could live off for the rest of the day. We had access to the room all day with our own keys and to the gardens, one of which had a great swimming pool. My children did not want to go any where else. The rooms were so well laid out that families do not disturb other guests who may want a quiet weekend. For a single mum wanting a break I certainly got just that especially as across the road is a great pub/restaurant with a good range of food both bar and restaurant who welcomed my children and me.

If you are looking for something a little of the beaten track, but only a mile or so from beaches, towns, attractions this is the place to go and they also do some really nice special events too.

We are going to be returning again and again.
