This B & B, which is located two miles inland from Cromer in a small hamlet is priced as an upmarket establishment – and overall it meets this standard. Nearby are three National Trust properties – and it’s a convenient place from which to explore North Norfolk. All rooms are on the ground floor.
Plus points:
• Friendly
• Efficient
• Excellent view from room of pond (see photo)
• Coffee and bun on arrival
• Fridge with fresh milk in room
• Plenty of parking space
• Clean
• Sizeable comfortable room – with lovely sofa – a welcome change from most B & Bs (see photo)
• Balcony – with separate seating.
• Literature on every conceivable local attraction in room
• Substantial breakfast – with plenty of options including vegetarian and low fat. Residents place order the previous day specifying requirements and time.
• Free wifi
Minor Negatives:
• My room had no opening window in the bedroom (but one in the bathroom) – only way to get fresh air was by opening patio door – slightly concerning if you want ventilation overnight!
• I believe temporary staff was undertaking the daily cleaning duties during my stay – dirty cutlery was left, and certain consumables were not replaced.
• You have to drink the supplied bottled water, or boiled tap water as cold water is not supplied from the mains but provided from a tank.
• Credit and debit cards were not accepted.
Conclusion
An excellent B & B which I would heartily recommend, and to which I’d return.
