I recommend that all travelers to Natchez and The Burn Antebellum B&B read "The Pilgrimage" by Louise Wilbourn Collier before their trip. Ms. Collier is a descendant of the Walworth family, the original owners of The Burn. This former plantation is full of history and the delightful complimentary tour (complete with a glass of wine) details some of the fascinating history of The Burn.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, the grounds and pool area are beautiful - although it was too cold for the pool on the February day that I visited - and the rooms are comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was delicious too- fruit boiled in a sugary syrup, bacon & eggs and a big mound of tasty grits.
If I'm ever traveling through Natchez again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Burn.
