O.K. people,I have stayed in ALOT of hotels, this one definately rates on my list of the WORST stays.
I checked in on 6/16/06. The front desk receptionist was kind enough, but not terribly knowledgable.
First of all my room was located in another building in the rear of the hotel. The rear door we had to use to enter remained unlocked for the duration of our stay. Trust me it didn't feel safe. Once I entered I was bombarded by the smell. The smell of mildew or something nasty like that. The wall coverings, carpet and drapery in the hallways were dirty and dated. The ceilings had huge water damage stans and looked like they were ready to cave in at a moments notice. This unpleasant theme carried on right into the room.
The room appeared to be clean enough, but the bathroom was dirty. I found urine on the toilet seat and hair in the bathtub. It wasn't alot, but it was enough to make me question just how throughly they had cleaned, if they had really cleaned at all. The room had no fridge or little microwave. The building I was in had two floors with ice machine located on the end of each hallway on each floor. None of the ice machines worked. So that meant when I wanted ice I had to make the trek to the main building to ask for some ice, which I did. The receptionist was kind enough to had me some ice from a back room in a grocery store bag (sweet). 6/19/06 was my day of emancipation, or at least that's what it felt like. That's the day I checked out of the Ramada and back into civilized living.
I would STRONGLY suggest thinking twice before staying at the Ramada Hilltop.Once upon a time the name Ramada was associated with quality, but that was once upon a time.........
