My husband and I (along with our 16yr old daughter) had the misfortune of staying at this so called "Resort" what a waste of our time and money!!! we only checked in this place, because my daughter was taking surfing lessons and the other places were booked, upon checking in they put a bright colored florescent band on your wrist (they say so that they know who their guests are) and you are told not to remove it until you check-out, so if you are going to be more than one night and are visiting other areas, everyone knows that you are a visitor to the area (kind of scary, when you think about it, u walking around and some person can read your band and find out where you are staying, resort has no seen security) Bartender was not very bright, I asked for a "Mojito" he didn't know what it was, not even a "Cuba Libre" which is bacardi and coke. No breakfast, Restaurant was over priced staff did not look to friendly (it was empty every night we were staying. You Have to go to Happy Belly's restaurant, great staff and views of the surfers, foods isn't tooooo bad either!!! Also on Rt 2, Mr. Mofongo's is delicious and reasonable priced, I got the Mofongo stuffed Lobster for under $16.00 and had BIG chunks of lobster( and lots of em). No Room Service, you have to pay machine for ice (25cents, you got maybe a small glass full , if you were lucky) The beach is across a road and does not have easy access, it's a slope with no easy footing, unless your spry and sure footed, otherwise you have to literally jump 3 feet to reach it. I could go on about this so called resort, but if you do find yourself in Isabela, I reccomend you stay either in Aguadilla(cielo de Mar is nice) or in Guajataca and make the drive to Isabela(it's about 15 to 30 minutes depending where you stay). Also, if you are looking for surf lessons, Werner Vega is the go to guy, he is a GREAT surf instructor, he has been giving my child lessons for about the last 4or 5 yrs (every time we go to Puerto Rico). If anyone out there knows of any other places in Isabela other than the ones in the "Que Pasa" magazine, to stay at, please let me know. To date I have stayed at the "Sonia Rican house--terrible, my whole family got sick from the pool. Villa Montana seems to never have availabilty, no matter when we go, also they advertise one set of rates & quote & charge different rates. TSK. TSk.
