If I had only one word to describe the ATRI – clean! I will admit that pulling up to the motel, I had my reservations. It is definitely an old-style motor lodge. As a traveler who usually enjoys fine hotels in the city, the ATRI’s charm of yesteryears in the more rustic setting of the Rockies, eluded me at the first glance. However, do not be fooled. The rooms have been updated with modern conveniences, including WIFI and microwaves. I could not get over how clean everything was! No dirt or dust, even in areas where you normally expect it. My husband and I were very comfortable there in our home away from home for my first trip to the Rockies. We already have another trip booked for this summer and are going to stay at ATRI again. The only drawback is the proximity to the roadway. Our room had a mountain view, but it also faced a busy street. However, we did not find it overly bothersome. You could pay more to stay in a swanky hotel in Estes Park, but I can’t imagine why. (I hope you are out exploring the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park and not hanging in your hotel room, anyway.) Alpine Trail Ridge Inn has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Estes Park! Also a plus - The restaurant next door is within walking distance across the parking lot and was very convenient for our stay.
