I called the hotel and spoke to a helpful and patient person there to make the reservation. If the weekend hadn't been a holiday, there would have been some wiggle-room on the price - so be sure to ask if you book there.
The Suite-Heart Loft, 1-bedroom was very clean and quiet.
We didn't use the air conditioner so don't know how loud that would be. Windows did open, and even though it's fairly close to the road, we didn't hear noise because the area is not busy at night. The suite faces into the courtyard, with mountain views in the distance.
It was a little strange to see the tub in the living area, but it's close to the gas fireplace, which provides plenty of heat. There is a small stall shower in the bathroom.
Kitchen is stocked with utensils and dishes, DW, frig, microwave.
The local Safeway is nearby by car.
Bed was comfortable, though personal preference would have been for softer pillows. There was a TV/VCR in the bedroom, and also in the living room. You could rent movies (nothing very current) at the desk for $2. Cable TV had lots of channels.
Someone on this forum commented on the list of "Important Things You Ought to Know." I really didn't mind seeing in print a reminder to respect your neighbor's need for a quiet setting - sometimes people on vacation need a reminder that their kids need to remain respectful of others. (no stomping around before we've had our morning coffe, thanks)
There's also a new hotel-type building that's not yet on their website. I'd like to see a review posted here if anyone stays there.
Overall, it was a restful place, and we'd stay there again.

“good place to get warm”

After spending 5 nights tent camping, the weather was getting quite cold and rainy so we decided to book a room in town for the night. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. Our only complaint was that we could hear the tv of the people next door through the walls clearly. For a one night stopover, it was sufficient for our needs. If we had planned ahead we probably would have booked a place right in town, in close walking distance to everything.

Enjoyed a two night stay at the Appenzell Inn, Estes Park as a base for walking in the Rocky Mountain National Park, May 21st/22nd. Lots of accomodation in the area but found the Appenzell Inn by chance. Turned out to be very good. Exceptionally clean with modern and very well maintained rooms, could not be faulted. The owner was accomodating and pleasant. There were several types of room available, all I think, have a jetted bathtub. The room we chose also had a small kitchen area with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and cooking utensils. There was also a very nice deck area out side the rooms with views of the Rocky Mountains. Would no hesitate to stay there again.

The Appennzell Inn was very very clean. The service we recieved from the owners was also terrific. Our son has a chronic lung disease and we always struggle with where we can get away to because of rooms that have been allowed to have smoklng in them. We did not have to worry about this. Our room was furnished with dishes, glasses, silverware etc. All we needed to do was bring ourselves and some food that could be cooked on the stainless steel grill outside our room door. The grill was on a very roomy deck that had very beautiful views. We would strongly recommend Appenzell Inn to anyone.

We have stayed at many places in Estes Park over the years, but this was one of our favorites. We found it through our son and his wife, who had booked a room for the month before we were going. The room was bright and cheery, spacious, and we enjoyed our stay very much. It's a short drive into town, but parking was no problem. We would stay again the next time we are visiting Rocky Mountain National Park.
