Jan. 20, 2008. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I have stayed in other Holiday Inns and this one was just all around better. Friendly, helpful staff at the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping. A few little things that were extra nice: a pillow menu with 4 different types of pillows; a heat lamp in the bathroom; a higher shower head with 3 different settings. Being 5'9" and my husband is 6'3", the extra height made for a very comfortable shower.
We ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant, LongZ which was another pleasant surprise. We each had potato sausage soup which was excellent and 1/2 lb. cheese burgers with fries dinner. If you are traveling with someone, I suggest sharing one burger platter along with soups or salads. The portions were very generous and the food quality was suprisingly very good. The cheeseburger platter was only $8.25 and the soup $4.
Other features: exterior security doors that require a room key, a well-maintained swimming pool, billard table, foosball table, and vending machines. Plus we had a very nice view of the mountains from our room. Since we stayed off season, we really felt this hotel was a great deal; however, if I was in Estes Park in the spring or summer, I would definitely stay at this hotel.
