This is an absolute MUST DO if you are in Providence RI.
The view is amazing. Everyone I know who has gone finds it breathtaking, fun and a nice way to get a little bit of exercise in too. It does get crowded so I recommend heading out early so you can sit down & get comfy. Otherwise, head in after a couple of hours when it is less crowded. You can walk up and down the entire waterway.
The music is piped in throughout the entire waterpark and is typically something classical. It really makes for a spectacular night. Choose one where it isn't too windy, the smoke & ash can blow around. The summer and fall nights are really nice. This is a FREE event so you don't have to spend anything unless to choose to.
There are always plenty of artisians around doing either short skits, displaying their work, etc. Food & drink is available from area vendors & restaurant, which are plentiful.
You may need to "hunt" for a parking spot on the street. Look behind the state house. it is a short walk down the street to the water park. There is parking available at the Providence Place Mall. It costs $1 for 3 hours.
