This inn disappointed on many levels. Our $300 room was filled with a hodgepodge of mismatched furniture topped with an abundance of doilies and runners. (It looked as though an elderly Midwestern granny had decorated the place.) No closet in the room. The bathroom was minuscule with no shelf for toiletries, and a tiny shower with an unattached drain cover, a definite safety issue.
Breakfast was an uncomfortable affair. Upon check-in, we were told our breakfast seating was at 9:30am, a time which did not work with our planned activities. Dave, the innkeeper, simply shrugged off our concerns. Food was okay, but portions were skimpy. Anna Marie, the owner and cook, seemed overwhelmed with the production of trying to serve a formal, multi-course sit-down breakfast. A breakfast served buffet-style would make more sense.
Overall, it was the management's lack of attention to detail that defines this inn. No wastebasket in our room. Windows painted shut and inoperable. Tattered 2004 hand-me-down magazines in the room. No morning papers. Dead potted plants and unkempt lawns. Dirty lawn furniture. Lack of lighting for uneven outdoor stone stairs. Coffee and tea available in the communal kitchen, but no cream or milk provided.
The inn is close to the ferry, but location is not enough of a reason to recommend staying here.

Anna Maria and I are the new owners of the Tucker House Inn Bed and Breakfast as of January 2006. This past winter (2006/2007), we have undertaken significant renovations to this historic residence including new hardwood flooring and fire places in the main Victorian House, new hardwood flooring and sun room restoration to the historic Tucker House, major interior renovation to the Goose In the Pond Cottage, and installation of new decks and walkways between the Tucker House and our sister property the Harrison House Suites Bed & Breakfast.
We pride ourselves on our food service using the freshest ingredients from the local farms on the Islands. We offer a four course breakfast of fresh fruit, homemade granola and yoghurt, a hot entrée of the day, and a dessert. Yes dessert for breakfast! Despite the fact that we serve upwards of 60 guests each day, we take the time to ensure that all of our guests have a wholesome savory start to their day and can fully experience our breakfast service whether they observe gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, low fat, vegan or kosher diets. We offer two seatings – 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Unfortunately, we can not always accommodate large groups for the exact time that they want. If we know that guests prefer a certain time, we can generally offer them the time that they want on the second day of their stay when the Inn turns guests. Guests who stay in our cottages or suites that are equipped with kitchens have the option of room delivery for breakfast at an hour of their choice between 8:30 and 9:30.
Our entire staff does their very best each day to ensure that every detail of your vacation is attended to. We look forward to having the opportunity to serve you.
