Wow! I've been to many museums in the world, but this is hands down the most unique, located on Museum Hill in Santa Fe - a lovely location. The main collection is composed of artifacts from many cultures in the world, inlcuding dolls, paintings, fabrics, figurines, etc. But it is so much more than that! There are clever displays of these items, sometimes in large panoramas depicting life in a village somewhere. There are no explanations about the 10,000 items on display - the collector wanted it to be a totally visual experience, without the influence of the written word. But there is a written guide you can use that gives information about a lot of the stuff there. Don't forget to look up - there are things hanging from the ceiling and high on the walls of the exhibit. Everyone I saw here seemed to be in chidlike awe of the displays. I cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are in Santa Fe!!!
