We stayed one night at the Inn. Gordon the owner checked us in that evening. We booked the Southwest which was on the ground floor. The room had lovely furnishings and a huge king sized bed which was very comfortable. The Inn was located within walking distance of downtown Flagstaff. We did take advantage of the location and walked down to eat at the Mountain Oasis which was also very good. There are restaurant menus available at the Inn to help you plan your evening meal. The breakfast at the Inn was outstanding as well. Since we were heading out for Sedona, Gordon took the time to give us a lot of travel info for that area. He equipped us with a map and recommendations for things to see and do. His hospitality was outstanding and we would recommend this Inn as a great place to stay in Flagstaff.

My 17-year-old son and I stayed at the Inn @ 410 on April 6 of this year. We arrived very late owing to a cancelled flight earlier in the day and were pleased to have found a key left out for us and our room very nice, but that is where the nice treatment ended. Breakfast ends at 9 a.m. which was a surprise, especially since it was a Sunday and a full and even gourmet type breakfast was what was advertised. I was informed at 9:15 a.m. I had "missed breakfast' and would I like "coffee in a cup to go?" The dining room was fully set with tea cups and place settings. I fixed myself a cup of tea in a papercup and when I sat down at one of these place settings to drink it I finally was offered a glass of orange juice but instead what came out was a fruit bowl and a cold fitatta, which was minmal and unappetizing. The manager hovered with a glass cleaner as I sat there, even spraying the table I sat at, even though all these tables were set and very clean. I went outside for privacy, and while sitting with my tea at a table the owner walked by twice, not friendly or welcoming or even speaking to me. I recognized him as someone who had had a loud conversation outside our door and woken us earlier in the morning when the dining room is generous sized and there were many other places to sit with few other guests at the inn. The only thing that topped all this were the numerous (I counted four) requests in and about the room and in its materials for a "tip for the innkeepers". Even envelopes were supplied! The inn in and of itself is nice but the people sure act as if they have somewhere else to go and something else to do then provide an inn experience to a mom and son who endured impossible flight situations and a long drive from Phoenix to boot. I would not recommend this inn to anyone.

Management Response
Gordon Watkins, Owner

Dear Theresa5591,
As we expressed in several e-mails to you, we are sorry that your trip was heavily delayed and you arrived very late in the evening from Phoenix.

Your late check-in packet very clearly stated our breakfast serving time. Most of our guests come down to breakfast by 8 a.m. and are on their way sightseeing by 9:30-10 a.m. that is why we serve breakfast when we do.

Many of our guests ask how to leave tips, that is why we leave a tip envelope in our guest books. Many fine hotels and B&B's around the world do the same.

Best wishes for better travel planning in the future!
Gordon Watkins

Inn At 410 is a perfect place to stay!!!!!!!!!
It is only 4/5 blocks from the restaurants, bars and shops of Downtown Flasgstaff, yet far enough from the railway line not to be bothered by the regular noise of the train 'hooters' throughout the night.
All of the rooms are individually decorated in antique style to reflect the delightful Victorian house. They are large and airy, with seating areas, private bathrooms (some with jacuzzi baths) and fireplaces. Everything is quality.
When we arrived, after hours, our room had the lamps and fire already lit to welcome us. It is this sort of attention to detail which gives the Inn At 410 the edge. Everything we required was at hand....coffee-maker, fridge, toiletries etc. etc. And the beds........so comfortable!
One of the Innkeepers (Gordon) was on hand during the day to give advice on the area and nothing was too much trouble for him. When we were due to leave very early one morning, Gordon made sure that we had continental breakfast available in our rooms. A nice touch!
Breakfast was gourmet style and served in the delightful breakfast room which also had free, 24-hour, internet access. There were also delicious 'treats' available throughout the day and tea-time hot and cold drinks. I particularly liked the vodka and cranberry juice!
My only criticism is not really a criticism. I found the establishment a little over-fussy for my taste, with Christmas type decorations on the tables and sparkly butterflies in the plants etc. BUT..........I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Flagstaff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I stayed at the inn on our way back to Vegas for one night, absolutely perfect, this is what all B/B owners should aspire to.
What more can one say about perfection.

“Perfect location for a weekend wintery wonderland!”

Inn at 410 Bed and Breakfast

7 Mar 2008

I stayed in the Observatory Suite with 3 other friends(ages 23-27) for a weekend. We live in Phoenix, and decided we wanted to stay somewhere cozy, enjoy winter for the weekend, and play in the snow. We could not have selected a better location! The room(vitrually its own apartment) was absolutely gorgeous and well decorated. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. There was obviously no expense spared there. Our hosts, Gordon and Kimball were really wonderful. They even let us borrow four of their own sleds so we could romp around in the snow without having to buy our own! The stuffed french toast was absolutely amazing. I don't think we could have asked for much more. We will be back, without question.

    • Liked — Our hosts were so kind, and really helped us by letting us borrow their sleds. Such nice guys!
    • Disliked — Unfortunately, their wireless internet did not reach the Observatory Suite yet(it was relatively new). It didn't bother me too much, because our goal was to get away for the weekend, so I'm glad I wasn't tempted to work. Would have liked to check my Myspace, though. :)
