Four years ago we stayed at the Spring Street Inn for the first time and since then we have been back every year. We found a home away from home! Already the e-mail correspondence in the beginning with Pat, who runs the inn together with Jack, was very personal. And bringing along a well behaved minor is no problem which is saying a lot as most inns in Newport don’t accept youngsters. Every time we are warmly greeted by Pat and Jack who can help you with anything you want to do in Newport may it be shopping, sightseeing or looking for a good restaurant (our top favorites are the “Black Pearl” and the “Moorings”). We usually stay on the top floor with its Harborview Suite (Kingsize bed, separate living room and a private deck) and an adjacent room with a Queensize bed. The breakfast is a regal delight, deliciously prepared by Pat and charmingly served by Jack (don’t miss out on his wit!). In the afternoon you will be treated to some outstanding home made chocolate chip cookies with iced tea and lemonade which is served on the second floor in the guest living room where you can also pick a good read from a nice selection of books. As the Inn is located in the center of Newport, you can leave your car parked and reach all the major sights, shops and restaurants on foot.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Spring St. Inn and had a very pleasant experience. From the moment we checked in., Pat made us feel welcome and greeted us with info and recommendations about Newport sights and restaurants. The Harborview Suite was roomy and comfortable, not to mention the fantastic view from the balcony ! The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and the afternoon cookies and drinks hit the spot after a long day touring the beautiful city. We highly recommend the Spring St. Inn to anyone who wants a quality experience with a personal touch.

Stayed here with my wife at the end of August. Great location! We didn't use our car again til we left and drove Ocean Drive before heading to our next vacation spot closer to home. You can walk to the Cliff walk and the different "cottages" and easily walk into town. The rooms are very nice and Pat is a wealth of knowledge and information about Newport. We enjoyed her breakfasts and the afternoon drinks and cookies. The cost of our room was very reasonable compared to other places that we had looked at. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast for anyone visiting Newport.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Harbor View Suite at this wonderful bed and breakfast inn and we can't wait to go back again! Pat, the owner, is so helpful and friendly and her daily breakfast is elegant and super delicious, not to mention the fabulous chocolate chip cookies, iced tea, and lemonade she serves for afternoon refreshments! The inn is located within walking distance to many restaurants and shops and also offers safe and private parking right at the inn. All the rooms are decorated beautifully and offer comfort and relaxation to everyone who visits there. Next time you plan to visit Newport, make sure you make a point to spend some time at this awesome inn. You will definitely not be disappointed!

Thanks, Pat, for everything and especially the extra delicious cookies you tucked into the bag!! Rich and Ardie Carey

We stayed at the Inn the last week of Aug. for 5 nights. What a dream. I talked to Pat back in May and she suggested the Harbourside Suite since it was our 20th Anniv. It's on the third floor, absolutely exquisite/charming. Large kingsize in the separate bdrm and a good size sitting area with tv and a large luxurious bathroom. She met us at the door upon our arrival and gave us a map circling all the closest and walkable restaurants/sites. Her knowledge of the history of the town is unbelievable. My husband wanted a fridge in our room and she had a mini-fridge that worked beautifully. The room is full of all kinds of nooks and crannies from the mid 1800's. Beautiful decor and as everyone else said when you needed a break from walking before dinner you could come home to cookies and lemonade. Breakfasts are just as described, plentiful and delicious. Never needed lunch. Perfect location, centre of town and a short walk to everything. Variety store for pop etc. 2 min. away. We will remember Pat and her Inn for years to come and will recommend it to everyone we know. Thanks for the muffins for the early morning(and long) drive home Pat. You are a wonderful host!!! P& K
