Recently had lunch at the restruant. The food was ok, had the $26 hamburger, not really worth $26, but the outdoor seating and view were unbeatable, I would defiantly go back just for the view alone, even though the menu and food is average.

Six of us had breakfast here Sunday morning and the food was absolutely tremendous. The french toast was the most delicious ever, with wonderful fruit toppings, and the egg dishes equally tasty and unique. The service was good, though it baffled us that English muffins were served some time after the main dishes. Shouldn't be too hard to toast a couple of muffins. However, the views (we ate outside) and ambiance are exceptional and we all agreed that the overall experience was one of everyone's favorites.

Comments about the prices are certainly true for dinner -- we viewed a menu and then giggled about our pretty inexpensive meals. The bill for six of us, including coffee and a fantastic view, was $120. I defy anyone to eat elsewhere as well as we did for that amount! However, we were told that brunch service starts next weekend, so I cannot say how long the breakfast bargain will last. What I can say is that if you can make breakfast, do it!

I brought my wife here for our 2nd anniversary, staying at The Chanler. If you appreciate Cordon Bleu, good service, fine and paced dining, and know there is a slightly higher price to pay for that... then it does not get better. We spent 2 1/2 hours over dinner (like a romantic couple away for the weekend should) and dined upon; organic salad, foie gras basted young chicken stuffed with wild boar sausage, and steak. As for the 3 part dessert, we had a taste of edible 24 carat gold leaf (wrapped around part of the dessert), (not sure I could taste it but I will be talking about it for months). As a note of interest we also had breakfast here, homemade yogurt, delicious.

We had breakfast at the Spiced Pear 10/21/06 and loved it! Delicious food, excellent service, and all surrounded by beautiful water and coastline views. The hotel property is perfectly maintained, and sits at the north entrance to Cliff Walk. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially if your itinerary includes Cliff Walk. We imagine this place must be amazing in summer!
