Went on a Tuesday night in April. It was very slow at Tuckers, and we received excellent and personal service. Tucker even gave my husband and I a tour of the restaurant.

Cute, eclectic decor. Tucker made great (and big) cocktails, and the dinner was wonderful. The calamari was a huge plate with an excellent sauce and my scallops were numerous, huge and delicious. I ate every bite.

Tucker served us his homemade Bailey's after dinner, and even though we were stuffed to the gills, it was superb and worth over-indulging. We were first time visitors to Newport and read about Tuckers on trip advisor. Don't waste your time at a hotel restaurant and instead enjoy a memorable meal at this fun place.

We were guided to Tucker's Bistro on our first evening in Newport and it was a wonderful experience. From our first greeting by Mr. Tucker, we were welcomed and comfortable. The entrees were perfect, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was intimate. Do not leave Tucker's without trying the Bread Pudding for dessert and the homemade Kahlua. Both are mandatory experiences.

The appetizers were excellent. The main courses were terrible. The chicken breast was so overdone, it was barely edible. they forgot to put the cheese in the polenta; tasted like it was cooked with water. They forgot the sauce for the steak. The scallops were overdone. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

To: Not Worth It,
I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your dinners. We try very hard, but obviously we did not do a vey good job the night you dined with us. I have put my heart and soul in my restaurant and I care what people think and want everyone that walks in the door to be happy, so I am so very sorry that you were not. Thank you.

My wife an I went to Tucker's for our anniversary dinner on april 27th 2008. We had a wonderful quiet relaxed meal. Tucker waited on us and he did a very nice job. We had to have the thai shrimp nachos after hearing so many great things about them and they lived up to the great reviews. I had the braised pork shank with cheddar mashed potatoes which was fabulous. My wife had the seared scallops with risotto and she said it was excellent. I tried one of the scallops and they were excellent. The bread pudding for dessert was good but heavy after eating all that food. My wife asked for a glass of his homemade Baileys and Tucker asked if we were staying at a local inn(which we were) and he gave us a small drink each for free. It was probably one of the best drinks I have ever had. Our dinner was the best we've had out in a long time.

Tuckers ahs been a favorite of ours for years. Living in Newport we have a choice of some very good restaurants. Tuckers food is always great. The shrimp thai nachos are literally the best appetizer ever.
Tucker is a very friendly outgoing person, but he does tend to get flustered easily. I do not believe he is ever intentionaly rude or gives attitude but he can get flustered. I have always wished he would have extra wait staff so he can remain the friendly doting owner he is.
You have try their home made ginger ice cream and house made irish cream. All the entrees are wonderful. the scallops are perfectly seared. Can't say enough!
