My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel back in August of '05.

I loved the fact that we weren't in the middle of town, and that we were right across the street from the beach (East Beach...I think). This beach is very pretty!

It was a bit of a hike downtown, I wouldn't recommend walking, but that's just me. If you don't mind walking up and downhill for about 20 minutes or so then by all means...hoof it.

The hotel is walking distance to Flo's Clams Shack (yummy) and there is a liquor store around the corner. (Always comes in handy).

Overall, it was very nice place to stay . It was clean, quiet and not too pricey.

I would definitely stay there again.

I realized I made a mistake booking a room at this place as soon as I entered the lobby. It was a picture of complete caos and disorganization. There was one incompetent person trying to check in 100 or so people. I have to say this hotel is in bad shape.... It smells and is in urgent need of rehab. The ice and soda machines did not work, there are no elevators and the lock on our door was broken. The place seemed like a shelter for the homeless. The worst problem, however, was that the room they stuck us in was way in the back on the third floor. After lugging our suitcases up the stairs, then traveling to the last room at the far end of the hall, we realized there was only one entrance/exit to this rat trap. What happens in the case of a fire? Jump from the windows? I would avoid this place; it was horrible.

I got there at about 11 PM and the woman there got really nasty with me about checking in. (In case you didn't know you have to be 21 to check-in. Yeah, I guess telling people that before they make reservations would make a little too much sense.) The other woman was really nice, though. The girl who checked me out was nice too, everyone else was stuck-up. And the maids are thieves. One of them stole my locket. Why she would do that, I don't know. It was broken! But whatever.
This place is overpriced, too. They advertise "great rates" all over the place and yes, they're pretty good, but when you stay there it's really not worth it. You would be just as comfortable at a cheap motel (where you can probably trust housekeeping).

We booked a suite and according to description on website Refrigerator, microwave and dining area was supposed to be included. When we checked in, none of the above was in our room. Argued with the front desk when he disagreed with me. Invited him to our room to see for himself. Claimed that someone needed the refrigerator because of health reasons and apparently took ours. Brought an old refrigerator to our room could not find a microwave and never could figure out where the dining area was supposed to be. I thought we were at the wrong hotel!!!! Also when we booked the front desk claimed our view would be of the bridge. OUr view was of a land fill. Would never book again. Hotel lied. The front desk gave us a free breakfast to appease us and claimed that "Best Western" monitors web site and it is their fault that the pictures, description is not accurate. I hate when hotels decieve the public. Would never ever go back.
