After a small mixup upon check-in (the room we requested was not available,) the hotel managers impressed us by very kindly accommodating us. The location is terrific (walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, and shops), the hotel is an older inn but very clean, and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a room with a large, immaculate jacuzzi tub and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, it was a good value.

my husband and i stay at the bellevue inn twice a year. we feel confortable staying at a cozy place where we can come and go without fuss. the rooms are always clean and nicely kept. i love the waffles and the variety of breakfast selections...it is cooked on the spot and its always fresh. we love just sitting in the main sitting area, read the paper and watch people go by. the inn is close to the restaurants and since parking is free, we always walk to the shops. i love newport and plan to stay at the inn where we are most confortable.

We booked a stay at the Inn on Bellevue for this past Valentines weekend 2008.
Hoping for a relaxing weekend we got just the opposite, one thing after the other went wrong.
First the keys did not work, then the toilet broke, spilling soiled liquid all over the bathroom floor, the hot water did not work and worst of all, the heat did not work, in February! We were so cold that we could not even take our coats off. We were kept up all night by children running around upstairs and yelling (turned out there was a family was living in the inn )
When we tried to contact the front desk about our concerns no one was available. I went upstairs hoping to find a maid or someone to voice our concerns and I heard a screaming baby and profanities being yelled from the room where the family was "living".

We were so horrified and disgusted that we left and stayed at a nearby Inn.

We stayed at this Inn on New Year's Eve and we enjoyed not only the area where the Inn was located, but the Inn itself was very comfortable. It had a European feel, and had great history. We think in addition to all of that, the people that ran and worked in the hotel made our stay even more enjoyable. There were a few misunderstandings I think regarding the holiday, but they went out of there way, when alot of places wouldn't and made up for it, which resulted in a great experience. Thank you.
