The most atmospheric inn I've ever stayed at, the Inn at Bellevue is a time machine to nineteenth century gentility. A gorgeous old Victorian house, whisper quiet, beautifully decorated, I've stayed there twice a year for several years and kick myself for not having discovered it sooner.
The location is terrific too. It's across the street from the old Hotel Viking, a short, beautiful walk to Newport Harbor, so the neighborhood is picturesque and quiet even in the height of summer, when the dock/wharf part of Newport gets pretty noisy.
The owners and staff are as nice as can be, the rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated, and wait till you have breakfast--it's superb.
I can't wait to get back there. 71 days and counting.
