The Samuel Durfee House is the by far the best B&B in Newport. Michael and Heather are fantastic inn-keepers, that truly know everything about Newport and are willing to share that with their guests. The B&B is decorated perfectly, the breakfast is just spectactular that Michael puts on, and the atmosphere is perfect to truly enjoy your getaway.
The rooms are very reasonably priced and come with off street parking and private baths. The location of the inn couldn't be any better, as you can easily walk to Thames Street for shopping or to the mansions for a tour. My wife and I look forward to coming to the Samuel Durfee house every year.

With our third stay at the inn, we chose the xmas setting versus our usual summer getaway. Newport is dressed up for the holidays, and Michael and Heather, as always, were very helpful giving information about this season, happenings and events.
The favorite part of our stay is always the breakfast, a treat, with the french toast a delight. The newly opened suite is wonderful, with a sitting room and lovely four poster bed, the ambiance complete with a one-touch fireplace to warm us up.
We look forward to our trip here every year, and recommend the inn highly. Simply wonderful!!

The Samuel Durfee House is a wonderful B&B hosted by Michael and Heather. Michael's breakfasts are to die for. Heather is very sweet and knows all there is to know about the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would recommend it to anyone who wants a great place to stay. I almost forgot the afternoon tea. It was always a treat.

We just returned from an excellent stay. The location is great. The host are very hospitable. The breakfast are good and plentiful. We usually had juice, coffee, a bread, fruit and a main dish such as waffles, french toast or an egg dish.
If you stay here remember it is over 200 years old but it is comfortable.
