My husband and I stayed at this hotel overnight while I was visiting him at the Navy base in Newport. We LOVED this hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable with luxurious sheets and soft pillows. The staff was friendly and the hotel is very clean and grande. I've heard the restaurant is pretty good but we didn't try it. Parking was easy; they have valet or self-park for $22 and it's right across the street. The room is very small; really just the bed, a desk, and armoire, but exquisitely furnished and so comfortable....great for a romantic get away. The bathroom was also little but very well appointed and immaculately clean. The large walk-in 2 person shower was wonderful. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed at the Hotel Viking for the first weekend of Winterfest '08 and loved everything about it. I'm typically a 3.5-4 star traveler and would say that this hotel could be in the high 4 star range.

The location of the hotel was fine, everything was clean, bed was comfortable, the bar was great, the restaraunt seemed very nice but we didn't eat there. Massages at the spa were top notch (a bit expensive).

If there was one flaw in the place it was that people seemed TOO eager to help/assist you. We spent 4 days/3nights there and I can't remember on negative from our stay.

We were out and about the whole time and I'd imagine most people are when they visit Newport and The HV exceeded every expectation I had going into the weekend. I know everyone has different experiences but I have pretty high standards/expectations while traveling and this was a superb experience.

To top it all off I was able to book the rooms on hotwire at an avg price of $95 a night, a complete steal.

Stayed during Martin Luther King weekend. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean. Once you arrive, the concierge opens the door for you. The front desk is very polite and welcoming. If you need assistance, someone will always be there to help you.

The room was clean and spacious. The bed was really comfy. Try to get a room with a full window as we got one that wasn't much of a window or view.

Ordered room service, a bit much. Had lamb and a burger, but they overcooked the burger a little bit.

The spa was great. Service was excellent.

They have a parking lot, you can choose valet parking or just park your car on their lot - no fee.

Other than that, the hotel was a great place to stay for rest and relaxation.

This is a beautiful, comfortable, convenient hotel. Our room was spotless and the furnishings and linens were beautiful. It was a very comfortable room to be in. The bathroom was also wonderful. The fixtures and decor were great. The hotel itself is in walking distance to downtown and it's a nice walk. The hotel is huge and reminds you a bit of the hotel in The Shining, BUT it's not haunted, at least not that I know of. The size and style are like hotels of bygone days. It's really quite regal. The spa and restaurant on site are both very good also. The dinner was wonderful and my spa treatments very relaxing and professional. The room I was in in the spa was gorgeous, I did not want it to end. I would recommend all aspects of this hotel, even the parking was easy and problem free. Rare these days!
