We stayed here at the beginning and end of our tour around Utah's national parks. Not only was it the best hotel of the holiday but was undoubtedly one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. In fact we cancelled our last night at The Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas (no. 1 on trip advisor) for an extra night here. We had three rooms in total. Two kingsize river view and one kingsize poolside. All three were excellent but each laid out just slightly different. Everything was of the highest quality, from the hardwood flooring to bedlinen to comfy sofa. For example instead of the usual plastic cups there were glasses. The small kitchen area has everything you might need to make snacks etc and even has a mini dishwasher. Although there is no restaurant they have a small coffee shop serving starbucks coffee, pastries/muffins and crisps and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, a short drive or you can take the free shuttle bus - perfect if you both want to try the local brew. Although we didn't have time to use the pool, it was a lovely area with top quality furniture and plenty of space to move around (unlike some hotels that can squash all the loungers together). On our last morning we saw the staff taking a lot of time and care cleaning the pool and surrounds. We stayed in second floor rooms and the views were lovely, even poolside, but especially riverside.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We have stayed in four/five star hotels elswhere and although very nice they can be quite impersonal - everyone gets the same welcome, word for word, but here the staff treat you as individuals and it was much appreciated.
The provision of free shuttle buses through Springdale makes staying here very easy. There are plenty of stops along the main street that can get you to shops and restaurants very easily as well as to the park. There is a stop right outside the hotel - while in Springdale we didn't need to use our car at all. I noticed that American's thought the cost of eating out was quite high here but being from the UK it seemed OK to us. We ate at the Whiptail Grill, Oscars Cafe and Pizza and Noodle Company. Food was great at every location.
I am sure we will return to The Desert Pearl.
Second floor, riverside are probably the quietest but we had no problems staying poolside too.
