We stayed at the Fajardo Inn for our last night in Puerto Rico. We booked the Honeymoon Suite because we wanted to have the jacuzzi tub. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was pretty big, but the "panoramic view of the Atlantic" was more like a "panoramic view of the parking lots, mountains and the Atlantic if the Atlantic view wasn't blocked by houses and trees." But anyhoo. The room was cleaner than we had seen in other hotels. The jacuzzi was pretty old and I wondered how often they actually disinfect it. The bed was relatively comfortable. I only say this because I like a really soft bed and you can rarely find that in a hotel. The room had a fridge and microwave and the shower had HOT water (once the hot water came on.)
We ate at The Iguana that night because we were exhausted and didn't want to drive anywhere. The food was pretty good, but I think the server (who actually was a bartender) doesn't know how to smile and seemed very depressed. I definitely recommend the chocolate cake!
In the morning, we went to the pool just as it opened at 8am. We had to wait for the lady to open the store (you have to register to use the pool) because she probably didn't expect anyone to use it that early. I just wanted to sun my legs a little before we got on the plane. I actually got in the water and it wasn't that cold. If you want the WHOLE pool, pool beach, slide and water fall to yourself, go first thing in the morning. It was great! Too many people think the water will be cold, but the sun rises at 5:45 in May in Puerto Rico and by 8, the water isn't cold. The pool area would be great for anyone with lots of kids.
Tip: Another member mentioned that it is hard to find. The hotel website has directions that we used and we didn't get lost. It is kind of out of the way, on a hill.
