The Erin Go Bragh is a beautiful sailing craft, and her crew is extreamly friendly, intelligent, and knowledgable. If you are looking for a more intimate sailing experience than 50 people on a Cat, then this is the boat to charter. Along with my girlfriend and I there were just three other passangers.

Just to give you an idea as to how knowledgable Capt. Bill is, hearing that there was some inclement weather north of Puerto Rico, Bill decided to sail further south than usual to Vieques
so that we would miss this. The sail was longer then usual, but the weather and conditions for snorkeling were great! We only hit some light rain on the trip back, but we saw the largest and most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen! Futhermore, this was my first time out on a good size sail boat and also my first time snorkeling, so I enjoyed the extra time on the boat. Bill pointed out sights of interest along the way and talked about his life and times in Puerto Rico. He and his wife were wonderful hosts and did everything possible so that we would have a great trip. If you want to help out with the sails and the anchor you can (I did a little), or you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The boat itself has a wooden hull and interior, with big tall sails.
It's about 50 feet long, so there was plenty of room for seven people. I even laid out and got some sun. That day they flew the German flag in honor of the three German passengers. A nice touch I thought.

After snorkeing for about 45 minutes, we came back to the boat and had a wonderful lunch of chicken and spare ribs, with a nice salad. There was plenty of good food to eat!

I highly recommend sailing on the Erin Go Bragh. It will be a most memerable and enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed our day sail, a small intimate setting, with a couple professional sailors(a wonder couple) to catch the wind with.
A perfect day gave us a opportunity to visit a great reef with more tropical fish then I've ever seen. The quarters are a bit tight, but this allows meeting some fine people with a common goal, meeting the wind and waves and enjoying some great snorkeling. Take medication if your prone to sea sickness, or if you never been on this beautiful sail boat. Half the 'crew' got alittle sea sick. The only real negative was that the food tasted a bit like charcoal lighter fluid. I barbacue everyother day in the Summer so I'm finicky about that. That's a small issue compared to a great sail we experienced though. Besides seeing a huge variety of tropical fish(which we hand fed), I saw a couple of manetees as we sailed to our first snorkeling destination. That was real special. The last time I saw manetees was in Blue Springs, Florida last year.
In summary. this was a great sail if your looking for an intimate, relaxing setting with the sea as your aquarium for the day.

Off to spend the day snorkeling with Capt Bill and Ingrid of the Erin Go Bragh III. Set the GPS (we brought from home) for Puerto del Rey and 25 minutes later we were in Fajardo and found the boat. Bill and Ingrid were pleasant , friendly and knowledgeable and were great hosts. Due to one of the guests already having been to one of the offshore islands before Capt Bill asked if we’d like to go to Vieques instead and we all agreed so off we went on a bigger adventure than we expected or paid for – all because the Capt wanted to be accommodating to his guests. Due to the Christmas winds, we made a quick passage to Vieques. Capt Bill easily turned over control of the wheel to whomever wanted it and gave us a chance to feel the power of a 50’ ketch under sail in 20-30 knot winds – quite an experience. We then snorkeled for several hours, had a great lunch (chicken and ribs) barbequed on the boat along with salads and bread, thirst quenched by all you can drink sodas, fruit juices with or without rum. Then headed back for a late afternoon sail back to the mainland, more drinks and fresh fruit were served before reaching the dock at about 6pm. All in all a great day. Snorkeling off Vieques was quite good we encountered stingrays, puffer fish, trunk fish, squid, blue tangs, red snapper, blue runners, and starfish to name a few. The western tip of Vieques where we stopped had a particularly good grouping of soft corals with many colors of sea fans, etc. All in all a great trip well worth the $89 tab.

The Erin Go Bragh trip with Captain Bill and Ingrid is easily one of the best experiences one could get in Puerto Rico. They have lots of experience in the Waters and have done thousands of snorkelling trips. This was really assuring for a non-swimmer like me. They made sure that my wife and I are comfortable. They take a maximum of only 8 people including them, so there is a lot of one to one time and snorkelling opportunities. To top it all they cooked a wonderful lunch in the boat. I would highly recommend Erin Go Bragh Charters to anyone wanting to go on a Sailing and Snorkelling trip in Puerto Rico.
