I am extensive business traveller with high expectations, typically staying in 4 and 5* accomodation. I recently travelled to the South Island from the UK, which of course was a long way. So I was delighted by the warm welcome and very stylish accommodation at Golfside.

Naturally, I brought my clubs. You could not be nearer the course - it being across the road. The views from Golfside and the golf club are, simply, breathtaking.

Back to the accommodation. I would rate the rooms, in terms of space and style (neutral, modern, using local materials) has having a high level of quality. There is plenty of parking and plenty of space outside of the room via french windows to spread out with a book and a drink.

The hosts, Lynda and Dave, are a friendly couple and they provided good food (breakast only, of course) and some useful insights in terms of where to go in the town and aroundabout., On their recommendaton I took a flight from the local airport to Milford Sound, Magnificent, and a good flight from an informative local guy.

Golfside is a short walk from the town, but i drove down. Its not Queenstown but that is not what I wanted. There are many restaurants and bars and I had a great stay. Golfside is far enough out of the town to be peaceful but close enough to simply pop down.

I really enjoyed staying there and would definitley do so again.
