Spent two weeks here for our honeymoon, returning yesterday. We both had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The highlights were the staff, pool bar, food and the view from the terrace.
We preferred to stay outside Sorrento itself as it's very busy and noisy and would have been a bit too hectic for a nice, relaxing stay. The courtesy bus was always on time and if you made a mistake with your expected return time it only took a quick phone call at little notice to change.
I think it is unfair to compare this to Caribbean all inclusives who, due to very low labour costs and over demanding American guests, often create sterile Disneyland-like resorts. Thanks to the amazing staff at the Nastro Azzurro and the local culture and sights this is a completely different holiday experience.
We also feel criticism of the room size a little unfair too - what do people want to get up to in their rooms?
Special thanks to the staff: the ever-present Angelo and Carmine who always went out of their way to make you feel welcome and who should feel very proud of their teams. Alessandro and Clementine were also great, being there if you needed them but not overly pushy trying to get you involved with activities like it was an 18 to 30 holiday.
Slight criticisms would be the lack of sunbeds around the pool and how quickly they get taken up (although this isn't helped by people putting their towels down at 9am and then leaving to do other things, German-style), the lack of tv channels in the room and under-cooked bacon at breakfast
Evening entertainment was also good with the highlight being Lello and Carlo who play rat pack and other popular songs and were really cool.
Got to mention the food too - 99% amazing. Was always spoilt for choice and we just wished we could have physically eaten more eg it was hard not to fill yourself up on the antipasti buffet without leaving room for the gorgeous starters, mains and deserts. Everything we ate was absolutely lovely (bar the boiled bacon!!).
Overall: very enjoyable and would definitely recommend.
