There is very little that we can find fault with at this hotel. My husband and I have just returned (12 Sept) from a 2 week all inclusive holiday at the Atlantica Imperial Resort. Like so many before us, we read all the TA reports on this hotel before booking. The best advice gleaned was to go all inclusive as it was generally considered that the hotel bar prices etc, were high. This we can't disagree with, but our decision paid off as we feel that the cost of pool bar drinks (day and during the evening entertainment) combined with wine at meal times plus our lunches etc., were very good value for money. We had e-mailed the hotel shortly after booking our holiday and asked for specific room numbers (again, advice from TA). We were really pleased on arrival to find that we had been allocated one of the rooms we had asked for (338) which had a wonderful view overlooking the bay in front of the hotel and was also away from any noise associated with the entertainment. We found the staff throughout the hotel including housekeeping, bar staff and restaurant staff very friendly and most helpful throughout our stay. Most noteably Andrea who worked in the restaurant and Kristina at the pool bar. We thought that Richard the entertainment co-ordinator/manager was brilliant! He worked unceasingly throughout the day from organising hand ball etc., in the pool area to running the audio for the evening entertainment, right up to midnight. Well done Richard! However, we thought some of the evening entertainment rather indifferent, but this in no way detracted from our enjoyment of the overall entertainment team's efforts. We particularly enjoyed the beach parties and the hard work that the pool bar team put in setting things up. We also enjoyed the hotel manager's coctail party and firework display. Our advice to anyone considering staying at the Atlantica Imperial would be: 1) strongly consider the all inclusive option for the reasons explained above, 2) buying all necessary items in the hotel shop and NOT the local supermarket, other than suntan lotions etc., and, 3) if booking the 'Lazy Day Boat Trip', check with the Thomson rep about the facilities for swimming from the boat. Some boats, including the one we went on, do not provide suitable ladders for getting on/off the boat into the water for swimming. Finally, we very much appreciated the General Manager's send off when we departed from the hotel on 12 Sept. It was this personal attention by him and all the staff that made this a very special holiday. Like many others, we would definitely consider returning to this hotel in the future. We throughly enjoyed our 2 weeks and have no reservation in recommending other people to do likewise.
