"The Heathers" certainly deserve their four star rating as a luxury B & B nestled within the Heart of the Great Glen. I would even go further to say our hosts, Andrew and Liz Bright, deserve a five star rating for their personel attention to all our requests making our stay all the more memorable.

Our stay for the weekend was to be a "Birthday Surprise" and The Heathers was ideally situated for all our exploring. After an excellent nights sleep in the king size bed , a refreshing shower using water from the local spring , a most hearty breakfast was served up each morning. All cooked with delicious local produce,or there was the choice of a lighter breakfast of smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Both can be recommended having tried each variation throughout our stay.

"The Heathers" can in fact be highly recommended for all the right reasons. Any visitor to this beautiful part of Scotland will not be disappointed with the perfect hosts in Andrew & Liz Bright of "The Heathers".

Our "Birthday Weekend" was perfect! Thank You.

“A superb B&B in the Great Glen”

The Heathers

'The Heathers - Invergloy Halt' is in an ideal position for exploring Lochaber and the Central Western Highlands. Situated in the Great Glen a few miles north of the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge it is easy to reach Inverness, Mallaig, Skye, Oban and the Cairngorms using 'The Heathers' as a base.
In 40 years of visiting Scotland we have stayed at many excellent places, but never one quite like 'The Heathers', where having met Andrew and Liz we now feel that we have friends in the Highlands.
This year was our third visit and on each occasion the warm welcome, immaculate facilities and delicious, beautifully presented breakfasts have been everything a top quality B&B should be. Andrew and Liz are perfect hosts making you feel special from the moment you arrive! Helpful and thoughtful to their guests' needs without being intrusive, they enjoy sharing their wide knowledge of Scotland both of the local area and further afield. Their home is furnished and maintained to impeccable standards, and their hillside garden with views over Loch Lochy is proof of their hard work and enthusiasm to improve the surroundings in keeping with the natural environment. After energetic days in the hills a welcome bonus is to relax on the pretty patio with its comfortable garden furniture and its very effective midge deterrent.
We are hoping to visit 'The Heathers' for the fourth time next year and our only fear is that so many people will be making return visits that Andrew and Liz will not be able to fit us in. If so, the queue to the door is fully justified!

The Heathers is excellent in every way, from the friendliness of the hosts to the wonderful breakfasts. The view is spectacular and sitting in the sunshine on the decking overlooking Loch Lochy was a perfect end to the day. We booked in for an extra night.

From the warmest of welcomes to the outstanding hospitality we have no hesitation in giving a top class rating to The Heathers.

Facilities are excellent and the proprietors helpfulness in choosing daily itineraries and detailed maps was so appreciated.

I cannot praise the couple Liz & Andrew to who run the Heathers to highly they simply supply one of the best bed &breakfast houses I have ever stayed in. From the first warm welcome to the weather reports and journey plans they supplied me with made my trip round the area so much easier. As for the house itself the photographs do not do it justice it is without doubt the nicest place i have ever stayed in and the breakfasts have to be experianced to be believed .All in All it simply the best.
