...we didnt stay there long enough, which I said to Despina when we checked out, so she made us promise to come back again one day :-)

Rather than repeating ALL the details in all the reviews here, I just want to endorse this hotel as being just one of the best ever hotels I have stayed in. And that is with us staying in one of the smaller, cheaper rooms they have (thats all thats was available) and that was easily good enough, big bedroom, great shower with hot water available AT ALL TIMES (often a rarity in Greece) seperate lounge area with limited kitchen equipment (OK for boiling up water, coffee maker etc, you wouldnt cook a meal here :-).

So if they don't have the exact room you want, just book whatever they do have anyway, how long will you spend in your room and how long outside looking at the view?

Despina and her staff really did go the extra *extra* mile, it can't be stressed enough how friendly and helpful everyone was, and I can honestly say I have only experienced hospitality like this at one other hotel in the world (and thats in St Lucia not Greece)

The views...the views are to die for, you really couldn't tire of them, and you could see the sun set over Oia without having to get packed in with the crowds there.

A few other random points to mention ;

1) yep, the pool is COLD :-) but hey after a couple of minutes you didnt notice, and I guess in July/Aug/Sep it would be warmer
2) This is an adults/quieter couples resort
3) It is a 45 min walk to Fira, and 2+ hours to Oia (didnt have time for that one,will do it next time), plus 20 or so min to Imerovigli, did that a few times, really nice being away from the crowds and the views from the walks are, well, just fantastic
4) There are a *few* restaurants locally including a really cheap one suitable for lunch 1 minutes walk up the road (no caldera view though) plus one 10 minutes away that will come and pick you up and take you back again, we used that once, very good.
5) The bus to Fira (5 min) and Oia (20 min) leave from almost right outside, beats having to drive in to those places
6) the jacuzzi/hot tub you book which means you get it to yourselves, with a view right out over the caldera to Oia...one time when the word 'awesome' is not overused but doesnt come close. I think you can only use it a limited number of times on your stay, not sure how that is worked out.
7) Did I mention the views were to die for?

Why *shouldnt* you stay here? Don't stay here if you plan to be out clubbing until the early hours, have noisy children (or children full stop, possibly, check when booking,) or ....hmm, cant think of any other reason. ..oh yes I can, you might get the last room when I was planning to stay again!

My Girlfriend and I absolutely loved the place, apart from the inclement weather. It was just as all the other trip advisor people said. The room, or should I say, rooms were huge and the bath was the biggest we have ever had in a hotel. The place was spotless with the staff for ever cleaning. I was a smoker and every time I used the ash tray there was someone there to whip it away and a new one appeared, even Despina's young 9 year old son was in on the act. On the second day we mentioned to Despina that the bed was very hard and blow me down the next day she put a new mattress on our bed, bless her. She does try to make you learn Greek but I don't think she was as mad as she made out if you were not very good at it The walks in both directions were spectacular, especially the 2 hour one to Oia. Make sure you take good walking boots as it is pretty rugged in places. The only thing I could say against it, and it is only small, was the swinning pool was not heated but as long as you go in the hot times this will not be a problem. The hot tub was brilliant especially at a time when the sun is setting. They bring you nibbles and a nice glass of wine, very romantic. There is a lovely little taverna 3 minutes walk from the Anastasia called Tasos, I think, run by a lovely lady and the food was home made great and very cheap. It saved having to go miles for something not as good and a lot more expensive. The bottom line is you will not be dissapointed with the Anastasis Apartments.

We were lucky enough to stay at Anastasis last May and again this June. We loved it so much last year that we decided to bring our three kids (ages 18, 23, 24) to show them this little slice of paradise. If possible, our stay was even better this year than last year. Despina and her husband, and Victor and Helen all greeted us when we arrived like long lost friends. Despina taught us some Greek phrases, arranged for delicious breakfasts delivered to our room, made restaurant reservations for us, and just treated us royally. The additions of the new lounge (with internet) and beautiful flower garden along the caldera made the already perfect property even better. We cried when we left, wishing that we could return again soon, and often! If you haven't been to Anastasis yet, make your reservations soon! You won't be sorry.

My wife and I stayed at AA during April this year. I can honestly say this is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed at. During the 3 night stay, we stayed at both the White apartment and the honeymoon suite. Both of these rooms were fantastic, and the view was breath taking. The owner, Despina, is super friendly, and treated us like a member of her family. Despina has really poured her heart and soul into the hotel, and our unforgetable experience there is a testament to her hardwork. My wife and I have been to a few popular honeymoon locations (Venice, Pang Kor Laut, Santorini), stayed at many hotels, and I can say without hesitation that AA at Santorini is the most romantic honeymoon destination. If you ever visit Santorini, make sure you stay at AA, you will not regret the experience.

Note: all guests get a complementary 1 hour usage of the private jacuzzi. I would recommend you book the jacuzzi during the hours of sunset, because the view is unbelievable.

I am compelled to write this review as my wife and I had such a terrific stay at the AA. It has to be the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in, the rooms are tasteful and charming and the view is just to die for. The staff is thoroughly professional and work with tremendous efficiency and pride. Despina is a charming and adept hostess with an infectious smile mastering easily the art of consummate service. The position of the apartments for us seemed perfect with lovely walks offering breathtaking panoramas over the caldera. We always prefer to try fresh vacation spots and feel that we have concluded our “Santorini experience” however we could never get bored of the “Anastasis experience” and will no doubt visit again.
