Stayed in Marina Suites at Easter '08.
Lovely hotel, very contemporary with spacious rooms, great views (either overlooking sea or marina) and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and beach.
As mentioned, do not accept rooms 101 - 108 - no view from rooms as they are on the ground floor. In addition, the sunbed brigade queue outside these rooms (from 7:15am) in order to get their choice of beds for the day ahead, which is absolutely ridiculous. On our first day, we were unable to get sunbeds. During our stay, the hotel was at full capacity and as a result, there were not enough sunbeds or umbrellas for all guests (15 umbrellas in total which were in bad condition and the beds were squashed together).
Another negative - due to not having an ice-cube tray in our fridge, we asked for a cup of ice at the hotel bar to be told we could not have any! Then asked at reception - were told we could purchase ice-cubes from the near-by shop! Ridiculous! Eventually, we were given a glass of ice-cubes and a ice-cube tray was delivered to our room shortly after.
The Marina Suites is a lovely hotel but the pool area really lets it down. We will never be back.
