“An enjoyable stay in a lovely location”

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Sol Ibiza in the final week of its season october 2007. we found the hotel to be very well kept in all areas with the only exception being the indoor lesuire centre which was in need of a bit of attention.
The room was really nicely decorated and was beautifully clean (maid service every day).
There cetainly was no getting away from the fact that the noise travels far too easily between rooms. This we found was compounded by the fact that there was an adjoining door between our room and next door. We were lucky in that our next door neighbours were a quiet couple but even so, we could hear conversations, TV and alarm clocks etc. As you are aware of what you can hear from next door, it makes you really aware of what noise you make in your own room and so it does compromise your privacy.
Staff here were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent, huge choice and lovely quality.
The area itself was the highlight of our holiday. Santa Eulalia is a truly lovely resort and is a place that we will definatly visit again although we would look for an alternative hotel.

We stayed at The Sol Ibiza for 1 week in May and found it overall good value. We requested a sea view room and it could not of been better having a direct view out to sea from our bed. The rooms were a little dated but clean and adequate for our needs with air conditioning and a fridge. We did not have a problem with noise as some guests have.
The breakfast was good, plenty variety and freshly stocked. We did not enjoy evening meal and found it to be a bit like school dinners - although we do not usually do half board anyway as we prefer to eat out in local restaurants.
The location on the hotel on the headline was perfect. We walked from the hotel along a coastal path the Es Cana which was lovely although took 2/3 hours with a few stops at beach bars along the way for refreshments. Walking the opposite direction takes you into Santa Eulalia within 10 minutes where there are plenty restaurants and beaches. We also found it enjoyable to travel by ferry and went to Ibiza town. We had a hire car for our stay and found it an easy place to drive around, recommended to find the more exclusive beaches.
We have booked another trip to Santa Eulalia but are trying another hotel bed and breakfast next time.

Our first visit to the island of IBIZA and didn't know what to expect--but we were pleasantly surprised. I think we chose the best resort having visited some of the others. The SOL IBIZA hotel scored highly in so many respects but was BADLY let down by not having a dress code for dinner---we had to sit next to people eating with base ball hats on,people showing off their tatooed bodies-cut away T shirts and shorts. I do like to get dressed-up for the evening meal and so do many of the ladies--but this was like the worst of Mc Donalds !!! For a 4 Star hotel this was dreadful. Cyclists were also allowed to bring in their cycles and take them in the lifts !!!! ---and no one in Management seemed bothered or did anything to stop it !
The food was good but tended not to be hot--good choice and plenty of it--entertainment was also good of an evening. Staff very pleasant
If only it was a Thomson GOLD !!!

After the rather dodgy reveiws it was a little nerve wracking bring my whole family to this hotel.
I e-mailed the hotel direct to see if the four parties could have rooms together, i got a responce within a day, two parties booked sea veiw rooms and two pool veiws, when we arrived we all had adjoining rooms on the fith floor all with sea views.
The staff are very friendly, the rooms were kept clean and all the public areas were spotless.
The only bad point were the paper thin bedroom walls but thats just nit picking, for a Spanish 4 star hotel it was ok.
The food was quite good but if you want a tip go bed and breakfast and eat out, i found a paticular good restaurant called the gallery ,it was in restaurant street ,food was very good mussels to die for,sea bream superb and very well priced, eight starters six bottles of wine eight mains, six sweets four coffee's,300 euros including the tip, service first class.
Try not to eat lunch in peir one the food is not that good and overpriced walk a little further just before you get to were the stalls are there is a good place for lunch it's a cream building looking out to the sea with steps up to lots of outside tables under cream awanings, i had lunch twice in it ,it was very good.
Would recommend the Sol Ibiza to my friends its not like the four star im used to but it was clean and very friendly staff

“Mixed Blessings at the Sol”

Sol Ibiza

This is meant to be a constructive review and I hope is judged as such. I will itemise sections for clarity.

Public Areas. These are all spacious and comfortably furnished. The lobby, the two bars and the terraces are all a pleasure to sit in, either for relaxation, a quiet drink with friends or to listen to, and watch, the musical entertainment.

The Pool area is equipped with sufficient sunbeds, at least that was my experience in September, but you will need to take your own beach towels if you do not wish to pay the hire charge for the use of the Hotels's towels. I would have expected free towels to be issued at the poolside in a four star hotel, but that is a personal fad. The poolside restaurant is adequedate for lunchtime snacks and drinks.

The Bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped, of a reasonable size with comfortable beds and are immaculately clean, which is a must for any accommodation in a hot climate. Some balconies are smaller than others depending upon your location in the hotel. Our room was on the sixth floor overlooking the Marina and Harbour which was a picturesque view both day and night.

The Restaurant is pleasant to eat in with good furnishings. The food is a mixed blessing in that it is plentiful with a wide choice but the presentation of the hot food is sometimes offputting by being piled up in large quantities on serving platters. having said this, the meat, fish and vegetables are all well cooked but leading more toward the continental style rather than our familiar bland boiling methods. The salad bar is a delight with tuna, prawns and other seafood accompaniments which are a good alternative to a hot dinner. The desserts are exceptionally good and varied, with an unexpected array of good cheeses and buscuits, which will complement your Spanish wine, this being all that is on the wine list. Breakfast caters for all tastes and requirements, but the heat of the cooked breakfast is not always as it should be, but this can be rectified by the subtle use of the microwave oven supplied. The bacon and sausages could be better cooked. It's really a question of being in at the right time.

The Location has been the subject of mixed reviews, but we found it to be a five minute comfortable stroll to the Marina and not more than ten minutes to the town centre, and we are senior citizens.

The staff are, without exception, friendly and helpful, even at the end of the season when they must be wishing that it was all over for another year.

In General it was a good holiday. Santa Eulalia is very scenic, the amenities are good, the Rambla Restaurant is the best kept secret in Ibiza and is a must for their set lunch. The hotel is, hopefully, as I have desribed it and is as you see it in the brochures. There should be no surprises and, lets face it, the price is right.
