A lovely old family run hotel - very attractive building. I asked for a light and airy room as am claustrophobic and was given one right at the front with a sea view - they could not have been more helpful. You felt that nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was adequate continental type - every once in a while you were given eggs and bacon as a treat! and as much cofee as you wanted.

The little restaurant down into the garden served excellent food at reasonable prices. The garden itself was a touch of magic with morroccan lanterns/day beds/lots of candles. You could just sit there and read, have a glass of wine etc. No hassle. Some one had clearly gone to a lot of trouble. Pool area very clean and secluded.

The rooms at the front do get a litle road noise but its very quiet at the back of the hotel. Don't attempt the front steps - gasp - go along to the side where a lesser inclined pathway is! It's in a very good location - can get to the promenade/the river walk/the lovely old church etc.

All in all somewhere I'd certainly go back to.

My wife and i have recently returned from a stay at the Buena Vista and all in all we had a great holiday but this wasn't thanks to the hotel. Before we booked we were told that all rooms have balconys and the pics on the web site looked great, including one photo of a large bedroom complete with four poster bed. In reality theres only one nice room as pictured on the web site, the rest leave something to be desired to say the least.
We arrived at about 9:30 pm and after lifting our case's up the rather huge flight of steps (just to get to the entrance) we where shown to our room. To say we were disappointed would be the understatement of the year. Our room was what i could only describe as a slightly damp cube. Small twin beds against one wall with just enough room to shuffle around, one small cupboard with safe deposit box, one plug socket, one small window (not a balcony in sight) and a small shower room with the strangest shower tray i've ever seen. about 2 feet wide by about 3 feet with a raised section half way forming a sort of chair, to small (and dirty) to sit on and really tricky to stand on when wet and slippery making it quite dangerous. The worst thing about our room though was the heat, without any air con (which in fairness i didn't expect) or a fan it was like an oven. We decided to go clubbing the first night so i got ready as quickly as possible and when to investigate the bar.
The bar / restaurant area is this hotels saving grace, set in a lovely little garden with chilled out music its the perfect place to relax with a couple of beers while waiting for your bird to come out of the oven. The food is a bit of a mixed bag however, i had some wonderful sea bass cooked in the oven with roast veg, very fresh. Emma had a fillet steak which was like eating a donkeys saddle bag! Not so fresh, just fatty all the way through.
Breakfast was basic as you would expect, but you could eat as much as you liked.
The pool area was ok, if a little small (sometimes not enough beds).
Although this hotel was just above the main road we didn't find a problem with triffic noise, infact we thought that the location was pretty good. Santa Eularia is a fantastic resort, nice friendly feeling about the place with some truly great restaurants and these are all within a five or ten min stroll from the hotel.
We just used this hotel as a base, and only spent the minium amount of time there. You do get what you pay for, however i think you can get a nicer hotel for less and we won't be returning.

We have been visiting Santa Eulalia for 10years now and liked it so much that this was our 5th visit in that time. So suffice to say the resort is fantastic (not for clubbers etc) for families and couples.
However, the rooms came to be known as cells by the guests. They are VERY basic ,the rooms to the front which may have had a nice view in years gone by (hence the Buena Vista i imagine) look over a very busy road and buildings that resembe Beirut on a grey day. The roads are so busy and noisy.Cars, lorries, motorbykes, binmen and cockeralls(no joke!) meant although the rooms facing the front hava a little breeze the noise is at times ridiculous. The 'cell' facing the back have no air at all circulating and are unbearably hot. There is apparently a room with air conditioning -most likely the room that Judith Chalmers was given(the Hotel promote the fact she stayed there whilst filming Wsh you were Here). There is also a room with a nice double bed, which they use for brochures, website etc..do not be fooled-all other rooms are nothing lke this. We had 2 rooms 1 at the front 1 at the back, my son and I spent 1 night in the back cell and then decided that we couldnt cope and eventually slept in the front cell with my wife and daughter ( 1 matress on the floor)..they will hire you a fan at 3 euro a day.
I have never wrote on any of these sites before and generally do not complain but this hotel could be good if they spent some money on air conditioning and decor. The baths are shower size--no hot water. The gardens are lovely ,particularly in the evening, and the family that runs the hotel are nice. However if your even a minute late for breakfast you will recieve a ticking off and will not be served. The breakfast is not particularly pleasant..although half way throught the holiday must have been a special day as we were offered a fried egg!!

This small and friendly hotel in Santa Eulaila is very sweet, and is very reasonably priced, however please be warned before you go. There are about 40 large marble steps up to the front entrance of this hotel ( which you can't see on the hotel's website ) as well as large steps all around the hotel and grounds. This is not a hotel for anyone who is elderly or a bit unsteady on their feet. The walk to the sea front is all down hill, and therefore it's all up hill coming back. The pool area is very small and they only have a few sunbeds, but the beach is quite nice and offers a breeze on a hot day. The rooms are comfortable, however if you like to be cool at night don't go to this hotel in the peak of summer. They have ceiling fans which do very little, and if you are lucky enough to get ( or pre-book ) a room with a balcony, because of the way the rooms have been built you get no air into the room through it. The rooms on the front of the hotel have windows, but the road ouside the hotel is very busy and noisy at night, so you have a choice between being uncomfortably hot or being kept awake by the road noise. We ended up having to leave our door open to get fresh air into the room, as the large windows in the corridor provided a good breeze, but this obviously reduced our privacy. Breakfast was very simple but quite satisfactory, however we were not very impressed by the food served in their restaurant. There are loads of restaurants and snack bars along the sea front which we found were more than adequate. I felt that this hotel offered good value for money, but had I known about all the steps and how extremely hot the rooms get, I would have possibly reconsidered and booked elsewhere. I would go back to Santa Eulaila as it's a very quiet and pretty little place, and there are a number of apartment blocks and hotels along the sea front which I will book next time.

Just returned from a very relaxing week in Santa Eulalia, the Buenavista is perfect for unwinding and getting away from it all. As it was early season there seemed to be only half a dozen other guests so we certainly didnt need to leave a towel on the sun beds. The hotel is run by a very friendly spanish family and though the Hotel is very old it is very bright and clean and not dingy at all, there is a musty smell in the bar as they still have an open cave that was used for making olive oil!

The rooms are small but very clean and the beds were made and clean towels every day, the only minus points were the musty smell from the wardrobe and the bath was the size of the ones you have in a caravan so it was cramped.

We were B & B and the breakfast was continental but we did have boiled egg one day! There was a 3 course meal available in the evening for an extra charge and it was of very high quality. I would rate the Hotel above average for 2 star and the location is excellant.
