“Not the best holiday i have had”

Ola Club Cala Llenya

19 Aug 2007

stay here in aug 2007 with my 18 month daughter and partner . was nt over impressed, we did nt get the room we paid for they tried to give us a double room when we had booked a one bed appartment next day we got given a studio still not what we had paid for but did nt want it to ruin our hol so excepted this is all we were going to get alot of the families had had the same problem think what made it worse was that there was no apology or explaination.
Then two days after we got there our daughter got a stomach bug and then we did , there was alot of people that seemed to be ill , kids being sick by the pool . goes with out saying we had a bad holiday .
on a brighter note the rooms were clean and the food was good when we could eat ( re stomach bug),think we were just very unlucky .

My husband and I and our two kids (6 and 2) have recently returned from a 9 day stay at the Ola Club Cala Llenya. It's true, it really IS in the middle of nowhere with just one shop, one restaurant and one other pub. BUT... the hotel is fantastic and we didn't feel the need to leave the complex. We did venture out one day though to go to the quiet and pleasantly basic beach. It was such a relief to go to a beach that has plenty of space and less hussle and bustle that you normally find in other resorts. It's a bit tricky to get to with a pram as it's down a rocky path followed by lots of steps, but we managed it and had no regrets when we got there.

The Ola Club Cala Llenya is set in beautiful gardens with many appartments on its grounds. Rooms were excellent with fridge and cooker in the appartments which is unusual in an All Inclusive hotel. Air conditioning was throughout the hotel and all appartments and there was a daily cleaning service which again was faultless. There are 2 swimming pools - one quite large and one smaller pool with plenty of shaded areas for the toddlers. There were plenty of beds and tables/chairs surrounding the pool areas.

The food at this hotel was great with loads of variety every day. Although the kids lived mostly off chips and chicken nuggets (they were on holiday after all), me and my husband enjoyed a variety of different dishes for breakfast, lunch and evening meal. The hotel also had snacks throughout the day which included fresh cakes and biscuits from the restaurant and crisps and ice creams from the bar. You certainly won't go hungry. And unlike many other all inclusive hotels, provision of snacks and drinks don't finish early!

The animation team worked tirelessly every day and night keeping children and adults entertained with games, mini disco, bingo and various acts.

Overall I would say this is the best all inclusive hotel I have ever stayed in the and I am quite fussy! Perhaps not the most convenient if you want to go sightseeing or clubbing, but for families with kids who wish to make the most of an all inclusive stay - this is the place to be.

We have stayed here for two weeks in Aug 2005, and loved it so much we came back in 2006 for another two weeks. We travelled with 2 children and 2 teenagers. The younger kids aged 6 and 7 cried going home on both occasions. The teenagers now 17 and 18 had a fanastic time. Where do I start.. The hotel complex is very well maintained and very clean. Staff are brilliant. First year there I took very ill and needed to be hospitalised for a few days. Staff were fantastic and really helped out with the family, and kept in touch with the hospital to ensure I was ok. The gardens are amazing. The beach is a short walk at the back of the complex... not easy to reach as it is steps down a cliff edge, but a beautiful beach, not too busy, with plenty of watersports and pedallos to keep older kids amused. the pool area is nice and at night time becomes the entertainment area. There is a separate pool for young children which is very safe and well away from the deep pool. Lifeguard on duty every day too. Kids clubs are brilliant and my two youngest - who are quite shy - could not wait to go every day. The night time entertainment was based around family fun with a mini disco and then a show. The food was great. Plenty of choice especially for picky eaters, and plenty of fresh fruits and breads, cheeses and meats throughout the day. The all inc. option is a life saver for the kids with all the ice cream and drinks they wanted all day long. The complex is quite big, which was good for the teenagers as they could have a bit of independence whilst you knew they were not far away. The bus service to the town is very scarce but a taxi is about €14 and worth it to stock up. The supermarket at the back of the complex is well stocked and resonable too. Unfortunatly, we are not able to go back this year, but I hope to go again next year and would highly recommend this property to families with children from 0 - 16 years of age.

Had a great time here. The individual houses are like a home from home. The beach was so peaceful and probably the most relaxing place to be, especially after a rough night.
The nearby restaurant called "Punta Verdi" is well worth a visit.
Santa Eulalia del Rio is a bit isolated, but if you hire a car, which you can quite cheaply, you can tour around a bit and see a lot as Ibviza is small.

“Great. For families with young children -superb.”

Great.
Mid Sept 06.
My, husband, I and our son aged 2 1/2.
We Live near Heathrow and Gatwick.

I consider it to be a Good 3 Stars. Not quite 4, but a very good 3.
I have stayed at some other, supposedly 3 stars, which were awful. This is 3 stars +

Air conditioned rooms and dining room.

Food very good.
Soup, nice salad bar, pasta, fresh grill bar, meats, chips and veg, deserts. A bit repetative, but I think you get that anywhere if you stay for 2 weeks.

I agree with nearly all the other posters comments.
Apart from the lady who clearly wanted to be in the centre of clubbing Ibiza town !
It is in the middle of nowhere.
Beach a rocky climb down, but pleasantly basic.
Taxi to Es Cana, or Saint Eulalia - 12 Euros.
A very infrequent bus to those towns.

This place is perfect for families.
Nice pool and seperate childrens pool.
Sand area with slides and rockers
Kids club for 2-4yrs, 4-8 yrs, 8-13 yrs.
These run for 1 hr in the morning and 2hrs in the afternoon.

Then there are games, football, waterpolo and lots of other things on offer for adults and older children..
Some holidays, you get bulllied into joining in ; or the aqua-aerobics is so loud and in you face, you just wish for a bit of peace and quiet -it's not like that here - very relaxed.

Evening entertainnment starts with entertainment team doing 1/2 hr of dancing with the children. The kids soon learn the songs. My son LOVED it. So did EVERY other child. They were up there like a shot.
Then there is a show - mainly the entertainers dancing.
A few nights of audience partcipation- quiz, men v women -doing silly things.
The entertainment is far from, what you would get in Cuba, or on a cruise, but it was o.k / fine.
But the entertainers work hard, from dawn to dusk.

We went first week of sept.
We were the only English couple there.
Loads of Irish and lots of Germans.
Can't understand why more travel agents aren't selling it to the English.
The atmosphere was brilliant.
The number of people there was perfect.
I would NOT want to be there in High Season - July and August.

My only complaint is that the second week, was considered to be low season:
The food was not as good & less choice.
But my main complaint was that they , thus turned the air-con off.
Which was one of the main reaons why we chose it -because we struggle to sleep when the temp has been 28 degrees & We were told is was a/con all the time.

I would highly recommend this to families.
We wanted to lie down for 2 weeks. Play with our son in the pool.
Have him in a kids club for an hour or so.
We wanted good food, comfy rooms with air con.
We wanted to go for 1 or 2 days out - to Eulalia shops and beach. And on a train , like Thomas the tank.

Would I return ?
Definitely. But not in the highest season.
If you want a mainly resort based, family holday, in a decent, clean, not the most sophisticated, but good resort, .......
Then this is for you.
A total bargain.
I only wish more English knew about it !
