I stayed here for one night for a trip to Thorpe Park the next day. Booked a different hotel at first but did not like the look of it at all after asking to view the room first so came here instead.
Firstly I was quite impressed with the look of the hotel from the outside, set in a scenic location and looks cosy and inviting and a huge bonus having free parking on site. Reception was spacious and inviting and the receptionist was lovely and helpful; we asked to see the room before we booked and booked one of the downstairs rooms facing the river and bridge, so a lovely view; the room had been recently refurbished we'd been told and that was the reason it was a little more expensive than the upstairs rooms.
When we got to the room, it looked nice but on closer inspection, the cushions hadn't been cleaned and we found used dirty tissues lying on the floor in clear view; this gave me the impression that the room hadn't been cleaned so checked the sheets, which were clean thank goodness; called reception straight away and they came and removed the tissues.
To say the least, I wasn't completely impressed by the cleanliness of the room, without inspection, it could pass on sight but I looked and found that the bed's headboard was covered in dust, the bathtub had hairs in it and the shower gel was cut in half and refilled; this grossed me out completely; though the toilet had been cleaned. As we had checked in late, there were no options for a refund so decided to stay.
Had a look at the restaurant menu but was not impressed with the options so decided to try and find somewhere else; this was a nightmare as there is nothing close by, we drove to Staines and found a lovely Indian restaurant called Urban Zing.
Returned to the hotel quite late and decided to try to sleep, the hotel was quite noisy and if you're a light sleeper than take some ear plugs it as you can hear everything. Something strange happened whist we were sleeping aswell, it was not windy outside, however the window opened quite loud, this scared the hell out of us but when we went to check outside, there was nobody out there, can only think that the windows are not as secure as we would be comfortable with and if you are on the ground floor like us than make sure you check that the windows are shut properly before you sleep or leave the room.
Another little moan; the wifi, I've read good thing about the wifi in some of the reviews but we did not have any at all, apparently it wasn't working on the night we stayed but wasn't told this before we booked and as my partner has to use the internet for business everyday and had brought his laptop with him, this was not helpful at all and the staff did not offer any compensation or explanation for this.
There are some good points too though, aside from the cleanliness which can be worked on hopefully, the staff are lovely and friendly and keen to help. The location is scenic but not the best place for a night out as there's not much to do. Free coffee/ tea making fascilities are lovely and free biscuits are a nice touch too and iron in room was useful aswell.
This hotel is lovely for a short stay if only the management deal with the cleaning aspect of things; or maybe I just came on the wrong day. Check out was simple and easy.

Thank your comments regarding your stay at The Bridge Hotel. I am sorry that you had some problems whilst staying with us.
In regards to the issues of cleanliness, I will be investigating the issues raised with my houskeeping team to ensure these problems do not happen again - I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I am sorry you did not find our selection of meals appealing. Our chef creates daily specials to offer something different from the regular a la carte menu. They are advertised on our blackboards in the restaurant.
Unfortunately due to a maintenance issue our wi-fi service was down the evening of your stay. Even as a free service to all guests we do apologise for the service being down and you not being informed.
Once again I would like to thank you for your feedback. We will endeavour to put right the issues you have mentioned.
