All in all it was a positive experience, however, Shaygan hotel can hardly be called a 5 star hotel.
As for the service, the reception staff were rather unwelcoming and always looked sleepy and tired, the same for the catering staff.
It was obvious that the hotel is old and some things were pretty rundown, but our room was always clean and somehow cozy. Bed were comfortable, aircon worked well and we had a good sleep there.
Swimming pool and spa were a great disappointment. You cannot enter the pool without a swimming hat, so i cannot judge, however, i could check out the jacuzzi and it wasnt a good as well as the sauna and hammam. Massage was not available either.
Breakfast was variable but not tasty, not something you would expect fromm a 5 star hotel. The same about the coffee shop. There was a traditional reastaurant i was very excited about but it turned out they only served tea and water pipe there and the kitchen had been closed for 3-4 months.
The location was not bad, close to the shopping malls, a few good restaurants and not far from the sea.
So it was not bad but it's outrageously overpriced, so i woudnt stay there again.
