Heading back to Vinjerac after a rainy day touring Pag, my husband and I stopped along the road in the small town of Kolan (located in the central valley of the island) after seeing the first restaurant sign for miles. We were greeted by the owner's daughter who speaks very good English and Italian, and thanks to whom we became more familiar with the issues facing Croatia and various cultural aspects of living there. The Ostaric family owns the restaurant and the father is the chef. He also owns the organic farm that produces all the food served in his restaurant: hams, meats and sausages (he raises pigs and sheep), as well as vegetables, fruit, cheese, olives and olive oil, and of course, wine. We had an absolutely delicious dinner, Pag cheese and dried ham, an assortment of meat and vegetables, salad, dessert and coffee for about 40 euros (for 2) including wine. Everything was fresh and very tasty, an overall unexpected gastronomic experience! We highly recommend this place and wish all the best to the family!
