When arriving at htis hotel you are pleasantly surprised by the exterior of the building and its surroundings. Inside it is a differnt story. The public spaces are dreadful. We are talking 1970's. Judging from the pictures of their rooms I expected something a lot more modern. Unfortunately only the rooms have been refurbished.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull though and the parking garage is very nice in winter.
I had a room with balcony on the 2nd floor. The room itself was nice. Nothing spectecular. Just nice and the balcony was a nice touch.
The bed was a bit hard and the bathroom unfortunately escaped the refurbishment. Old and tired. It also had a ventilations system that made more noise than a helicopter. It could not be turned off.
The worst thing about the room however was the fact that this is a wooden building. Wooden walls and wooden floors. I had the pleasure of listing to tv's , showers, toilets, snoring, conversations, walking, alarm-clocks...the works.
The hotel may be in a very quiet locations, but what good is that if you can't hear the silence over the indoor noises.
Room service was above average.
