“Good standard for San antoni!!”

Stayed at the Arenal mid july for a week, i have stayed befor 2 years ago and was very satisfied with the hotel after many years staying in some of San An's worst hotels with groups of friends!

This time it was with my girlfriend. The rooms are of average standard, the beds arnt very comfey and now you have to pay 6E a day for the Air Con which i didnt have to on my previous stay. You cant live without the Air Con in mid summer so its a must. We had a sea view which we paid aroung £40 extra for when booking and its worth every penny as the view of the bay is great. Bathroom a decent size and always hot water for showers.

Now the food.. Belive what you read, it is horrible, if you were served this at your local greasy spoon you would send it back, meat is way over cooked and looks like dog meat. Chicken pink in the middle, fish had so many bones in you would spend a hour trying to pick them out. Chips are the safest thing to eat! I must admit the salad bar was nice and i had that most evenings. As for breakfast, only managed it one day as didnt get up in time for the rest of the week. Its ok, thats it! Go for breakfast at the Orange Corner cafe, next to Bar M, just up the road, Cheap and very nice!

All in all, if you want location and comfey rooms this hotel is perfect. If your more botherd about eating well, dont go!

Also the pool is clean and good, you can usualy find a sunbed.
I would return, but would eat elsewhere as there are some brillant resturants in San An.

Stayed at the Hotel Arenal hotel from the 6th - 13th June 2007. Don't normally stay in 3 star hotels so can't really state how this hotel compares with other 3 star hotel but I'm told it's a good standard for Ibiza and I was quite happy with the hotel for the money that I paid for my trip.

Read the reviews about this hotel before I booked and I have to say the food isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. There is plenty of choice so you can always find something to eat and I was happy to have most of meals in the hotel and could always fall back on the salad bar if I wasn't too keen on the various hot dishes that were on offer - always a couple of meat dishes, fish, vegetarian. I personally think they tend to over cook a lot of the food but it was ok./average. Preferred Breakfast to dinner.

The hotel itself is clean and well run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Manuel (bless him) is a lovely guy who works very hard and long hours and is very sweet guy once you get to know him.

I had a single room at the end/side of the hotel facing the clubbing part of the strip on Santonio bay, had a nice view of the bay and the mountains. No balcony unfortunately which I really missed and the single room was quite small but again for the money I paid for my 1 wk, I didn't expect a great room. But as I didn't have to pay a big single supplement as on this occasion I travelled to Ibiza on my own I was happy with what I got for my money.

As a single woman I found everyone very friendly including my First Choice rep who went out of her way to ensure that I was ok and she invited me out with her and the other reps for a night out on the town - very sweet of her. I made friends immediately upon arrival at the pool and stayed with the group of people I met throughout the holiday and really enjoyed their company.

You can hire just about anything at this hotel which was a blessing as my hairdryer packed up on me whilst I was there. You can hire hair straightners, CD player, hairdryers, safety deposit boxes to name but a few things.

Both the pools were fine and there are plenty of beds around, if not by the pool, at the back of hotel facing the beach so you can always find one. Some parts of the pool area became shaded during the day but I always managed to find a sunny spot.

The entertainment in the hotel is geared more to the families and older generation staying at the hotel but they make a good effort to entertain you. You can also go and use all the facilities at their sister hotel the name aludes at the moment but it's a few minutes walk away.

There is lots to do in San Antonio for all ages, I personally did a mixture of things, sunset cruise 25 Euros, castaway cruise 45 Euros all day boat trip visiting various parts of the island - lunch & drinks included. Clubbing - prices varies depending on the club and who is playing there, I enjoyed everything I did.

On the odd occasion I did hear people coming back from clubs but it was minimal and I was so tired myself I normally fell straight to sleep and didn't hear a thing. Don't begrudge people enjoying themselves, came back a couple of times myself when the sun was up & shinning - but I was quiet :0)

The beach was clean and not at all packed which was a lovely surprise so enjoyed chilling out on the beach on occasions - 4 euros for sunbed hire.

Enjoyed Ibiza and my holiday - would I go back to Hotel Arenal? yes I would. If you want luxury you need to pay the money, you get what you paid for and I was happy with what I got for what I paid.

Stayed here on a 4 day break in June last year and was perfectly happy for the price. Get a seaview and your balcony will overlook the bay in San Antonio – not the most spectacular bay in the world but you’ll get a great view sunset from here. The hotel seemed clean and well ran with good sized rooms, and was well located for all the usual San An attractions. Just a short stroll and you’ll be on the main San Antonio square. It’s very close to Bar M and Itaca if that’s your sort of thing. Overall I think it is a sound choice for a San Antonio break and I’ve stayed in lots of hotels/apartments around Ibiza over the last 10 years.

“Great location”

Our party of 6 have been to this hotel three years running now and will book again for 2007. The staff are lovely and remember us each year. The entertainer is a lovely funny man.
The rooms are basic but more than adequate. We have never had any trouble and staff are more than helpful.
The food is very good on the whole unless you are exceptionally fussy and caters for most tastes.
The sea views are stunning and considering you are a stones throw from Ibiza's nightlife you don't really notice it. Only the odd hysterical wobbly walk home by a few if you are still awake at 5am to watch from your balcony. It's not like you can't catch up on your sleep on one of the loungers the next day.
All in all our party of 6 ranging from 12 to 63 had a very nice holiday. Stunning fireworks displays every August, well worth a booking.
