I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed my most recent trip to Europe, specifically Ibiza, Spain. Now I want to express that I was not at first the most lively person in this hedonistic meccha (mind you the foam parties and such dont actually start in full swing until the middle of June) because of my extreme jetlag due to being on planes for 36 hours, but I did loosen up and have a wonderful time. I stayed at Hotel/Hostal Mitjorn from May 30th thru June 2nd, 2006 with my best friend/ex-girlfriend. I could not have asked for a picturesque location and stunning view. We requested the corner room on the top floor facing the harbor and it was amazing. We had great terrace that wrapped around the outside giving us a near 180 degree view. The accomodations were sparse but homey and comfortable. Plenty of room to spread your stuff out and still have room to relax. The bathroom are amazingly clean and spacious. The beds are a bit to be desired especially if you are trying to curl up next to someone, because they are two twin beds. Outside the lobby there is a great patio and swimming pool. Inside the lobby there is a bar/restaurrant where you can get food most the day. There is free internet access availble to guests which rules. The room does come with breakfast as well. Simple fare of juice, tea, coffee, toast, cereal, and fruit...much like American continental breakfast items. Toni is the manger and he was a nice enough fellow, but obviously there were a few breakdowns in communication causing a ruffling of feathers. Mitjorn is pretty centrally located in San Antonio and is within walking distance to everything. The harbor is about 100 yards away (I hate metric measurements). The main streets with all the food, shopping, bars, and dancing is within 100 yards as well. Es Paradise is about 500 yards away, across from another hot spot Eden. Despite the rainy weather the first two days, the last two days were sunny and awesome. We took a harbor cruise out to one of the other beaches, Conta Costa. The round trip boat ride was I think 12 euros and the chair rental on the beach was 5 euros for all day...leave early for the beach, around 10 to 11 am so you can stay till 5 pm. I would not say there are very many interesting, savory, or even tempting options as far as dining is concerned, but you learn to make the best of it. This is very convient locale.
