“Good Hotel”

Hipotels Natura Palace

26 Jun 2008

Spent 1 week at the hotel.

The hotel is a bit of a long walk from the town about 20/25 mins.

The food is varied but is not piping hot but I find that is a problem with buffets. From a personal view it could do with more Spanish food. The service in the restaurant was excellent

The rooms are good and clean and the reception and public areas are spacious.

The staff are friendly and polite.

We enjoyed staying at the hotel

What a great holiday, great hotel, bit isolated, good walk into playa blanca, which is abit quiet.Hotel is BEAUTIFUL, .On the plus side, gardens beautiful, rooms clean, plenty of food to please all tastes, great sweets, good staff,in restaurant, reception, maids, bar staff and the entertainment team worked very hard, day and night. On the minus side, location, cold pools.we had a few ants,we found if we left anything sweet ,or drinks in room ,ant will come in ,get spray off maids. If we had our teenagers, with us,they may have been abit bored, great for adults, and younger children.Recommend boat trip to fuerteventura, takes 20 mins,41 euros,or 45 mins,29 euros,I think? Corralejo is beautiful.1.20 euros to the pound, beers 2.50 to 4 euros,guiness,4 to 5 euros, pizzas 6/7 euros, cocktails 5euros,taxi to Playa 4euros.Thomson reps ate in hotel most days.

“Brilliant Hotel 5th visit”

Hipotels Natura Palace

17 Jun 2008

This was our fifth return to Natura Palace and we weren't disappointed. This Hotel is on the outskirts from Playa Blanca, but that's why we chose it. It really is a quiet, exceptionally clean hotel and is just right for a "get away from it all" holiday. The evening entertainment is ok - take it in the way it is intended, our children loved it. The hotel staff were, and always have been , polite, hospitable and even recognised us from our previous visits. Go here! Throughly recommend a great time, beautiful views and a hotel of quality

“Local Facilities”

Hipotels Natura Palace

16 Jun 2008

Having just returned from Lanzarote I can concur with most people on this site that the Natura Palace is a very clean and of a good standard. Food is varied and we found that if you got to the dining room by 7.15p.m. a table was readily available and quieter than after 8.00. The nearest "Supermarket" is out of the front door of the hotel and across the road, down the steps (ideal to get water when you arrive) also a bar next door (The Arena) run by an English couple who do a good bacon baggette.

“Overall, we liked it...”

Hipotels Natura Palace

Just returned yesterday after week long stay at the Natura Palace.
We ended up booking the room with Thomson and sorting our own flights out via First Choice. Doing it this way we got a Junior Suite for the price Thomson was quoting for a standard room.
Very glad we did as the suite was excellent - especially the HUGE balcony that got sun all day. It was Room 1116, if you want to put in specific request.

So, what did we think of the hotel?
Nice, spacious and clean communal areas. Good pool area with lots of sunbeds. Yes, the pools were 'fresh' but surely thats what you're after when you've been lying in the sun?
As for the food, I'd agree with majority of reviewers, that breakfasts were better than dinners. We've always been independent travellers and this was our first experience of half board so we've nothing really to comapre it to. There was plenty of selection - even for my vegetarian wife - but it could in no way be decribed as restaurant quality. But maybe that's par for the course? In my opinion the best dinner was the one where some 'local' dishes were on offer - spicy chickpea stews and things involving bits of rabbit. Sadly this was a once a week treat!

Having said that, the restaurants in Playa Blanca looked uniformly uninspiring so I don't think we'd have done much better elsewhere.

I think the hotels location will be an issue for some people. It is a long walk into the 'centre' - and a pretty uninspiring centre at that. it isn't only the Natura Palace that is a bit isolated. All the big hotels in Playa Blanca seem remote. The H10 Rubicon Palace, even further away from centre for instance.

We also felt the beaches in Playa Blanca were generally poor. The one in the centre of town was probably the best of a bad bunch. Playa Flamingo appeared to have lost most of its sand -all that was left was small strips at either end!

To overcome both these issues, a car is pretty much essential. That allows you the freedom to go to the lovely Papagayo beaches (15 mins drive, 3 euro entry) and nip in and out of centre as it pleases you.

There is lots to fill a week with elsewhere on the island and we particularly enjoyed the following:
Cesar Manrique (both the main Foundation and Jameos del Agua)
Timanfaya National Park
Submarine safari from Puerto Calero.
Lunch at Lagomar (house built by Manrique for Omar Shariff in village of Nazaret)

One more 'tip' if you end up staying here - there is a lovely bar called Manea near the hotel (go out of gate onto 'prom' and turn right and its about 300 metres on your left - its all white furniture, chill out tunes and excellent cocktails ) plus a decent italian restaurant 'La campana' located above the bar.

Oh, and my son enjoyed the rock pools right in front of the hotel.

Wouldn't rush back to Lanzarote - its not a patch on the balearics in my opinion - but the Natura Palace is fine enough
