“Had a great Stay”

H10 Lanzarote Princess

We have just returned from our stay at the Lanzarote Princess where we had a great week. I e mailed in advance directly to the hotel to see if we could get a refurbished room. They e mailed me back saying my request had been noted and when we got there we were indeed given a refurbished room, which was very nice. There are refurbishments going on but it does not affect the guests. The only thing not to my liking was the cold pool. Once you got in it was ok but getting in was a different matter !!!
The food was good and varied and the entertainment was ok. The entertainment team did a very good show with the Starlight express. We walked to the Rubicon hotel which was a great walk and then back again. It was approx 6 miles round trip. There is a bus if you prefer, but the walk is lovely with many stops at cafes. We would go back again. We had lovely weather as well.

The H10 Pricess is a nice hotel, very clean and very friendly.
My wife and I went on the 28th February for a 7 night stay.
The rooms are vey nice and comfortable with maid sevice every day
The problem is the renovation work that is underway inside the hotel on the ground floor.
Unless they close the hotel there is no other way to carry out the renovations but.....from about 08.00 the guys start work so if you are expecting a sleep in you are not going to get it and this work goes on until 17.30 in the afternoon.Unsure of how long this will take but certainly worth a rain check before booking.
Entertainment is average and nothing out of the ordinary..magic shows, balancing acts,"the platters tribute" etc
The food in the hotel was pretty average ...plenty of choice but a lttle boring.
There are plenty of sun loungers but to get the best spots you need to up early..."us brits" are a nightmare for this some people were putting towels out and not returning until mid afternoon which is poor form.
The covers for the loungers attract a charge per day of 0.60 cents which includes a towel.
The hotel has a happy hour from 17.00hrs to 16.00hrs and that is 2 for 1
Drinks inside the hotel are not priced to badly...my wife and I found it cheaper to drink inside the hotel than in the resort.
We were paying on average 12 Euro,s for a Vodka and Coke and Gin and Tonic in the resort...the same drinks were costing 9 Euros in the hotel.
Beer and Lager about the same prices inside the hotel as in the resort
Playa Blanca is a lovely resort and coming out the back of the hotel and heading directly across the road towards the beach you can turn left for the marina and right for bars and restaurants which are two decent walks.

“Muchas Gracias ..... BUT”

H10 Lanzarote Princess

Just had a FAB weeks holiday at The Lanzarote Princess. Have stayed there twice before but this time we felt it didn't have the usual WOW factor. Beautifully clean, most staff very pleasant when you get to know them, food excellent, rooms lovely,
BUT
Sun Beds - A lot of broken ones
Dining Room/Restaurant - Needs Bulldozing - Its like a Motorway Service Station NOT 4 Star Hotel Standard.
Other noticable annoyances are -
In the Hotel Information Book in your room it states amongst other things.
1. Do not reserve sub beds
2. Do not take food from the Dining Room.
Both of these things were happening. The food didn't affect us except we thought it was rude to do this. BUT the Sun Beds were reserved when folk went out for at least half a day consequently when we came back from our game of golf at 10.30am we couldn't find a sub bed to have a rest on.
IF this is stated in the Information then it needs to be carried out. It won't do anyone any harm ........ will it?
We will come back to the Princess maybe in a couple of years but in the meantime please do something with it (or reduce it to 3 Star) otherwise it WILL be the last time.

My wife, children and I have just returned from Lanzarote having spent a week staying at Lanzarote Princess Hotel. Let's deal with the good things first:

We stayed in a family room, although not recently refurbished, was large enough for a family of 4, was kept very clean and tidy by our maid. Our room, being on the ground floor, also benefitted from an outside terrace overlooking the pool complex. The pool complex is large set in mature landscaped grounds.

All the staff that we encountered were both helpful and polite.

The piano bar is a nice area to relax in and the music is great.

The hotel operates a strict sunlounger code. This prevents the overzelous holidaymaker placing towels on sunloungers to reserve them in advance. Any such items are swiftly removed. Sunlounger mattresses and towels are avaliable to hire.

The position of the hotel is very good. The main beach is a stones throw away.

Now for the not so good things:

The restaurant is vast with self service buffet style food. Evening meals are a complete bun fight. Too many people in one sitting, complete chaos from start to finish. Breakfast time is slightly more civilised, but only just. The food itself is low rent, but this is hardly suprising considering the amount of people being catered for.

We attempted to sample the childrens entertainment in the evening, however, the majority of the acts don't appear until between 9 and 10pm. Far too late for younger children.

A great pity that only the insane ventured into the swimming pool which is unheated and freezing. The sea is warmer.

We have to agree with other reviews, the hotel does have an exhausted feel about it. It certainly does'nt warrant it's current 4 star rating. 3 stars maximum would be nearer the mark. In the main reception area there is a wall with an array of certificates which have been bestowed upon the hotel. Perhaps the most telling thing about these is the fact that the last award dates back to 2003. We rest our case!

“slightly dissapointed”

H10 Lanzarote Princess

Just returned from lanzarote princess. We were lucky and had a nice room on first floor (not refurbished) overlooking the pool but many people had not so good rooms i.e. poor outlook and/or poor condition.
The hotel in general is not now four star and although it is clean and tidy it can be best descibed as "tired". We found all the staff polite and helpful and the facilities good from the library to the crazy golf. The pool area is spacious with plenty of beds(60c pp for mattress and towel). Entertainment in the evening was good with professional acts, the hotels own entertainment team and an exellent piano bar. The restuarant was disappointing, it needs refurbishing and was poorly organised and at times was more like a canteen but there was a variety of choices all edible ,but not four star standard.
The location is good for the beach, shops, bars and restuarants.
Playa Blanca is a nice clean town with good roads and pavements and all the amenities one needs on a holiday.
In conclusion many people we spoke to go there every year but admit that the standard has dropped in recent years.
