We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel although I would not rate it as 4 star. It is more a 3 star plus. Nevertheless it is a very clean hotel with a very attractive lobby. The rooms are slightly dated but are very clean and comfortable.
The grounds are quite extensive around the two pools and there are plenty of sun beds. The reviewer that said people are not allowed to reserve sun beds has got it wrong. We saw lots of beds with towels on them and nobody made any attempt to shift them. We never felt the need to reserve them as whatever time of day we went down there there were always plenty to choose from.
We do not agree that every evening was a bun fight in the dining room. We never had a problem. We found the food to be very tasty if slightly on the warm side rather than hot. The waiting staff are extremely friendly and helpful and hard-working. The reception staff are also very helpful.
The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the beach and 2-3 minutes walk from the Playa Blanca village. If you feel a bit adventurous you can walk down to the harbour, about 15 minutes and catch a ferry to Fuerteventura. The Fred Olsen express takes 20 minutes but on the downside it is quite expensive 42 Euros per person each way (or 37 Euros per person each way if you are over 60).
You can catch the Armas Ferry which is a bit slower (35 minutes) and I believe it is about 30 Euros return each.
At the back of the harbour on the main road there is a bus stop where you can catch a Route 06 to Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would go there again.
On a final note, I note a reference to rocks in the pool. The rocks were only in the smaller pool and then there were only about four of them. They are clearly visible and are no hindrance if you want a swim. Apparently they have been placed there to keep the water temperature up. The main pool is quite cold as it is unheated but warmer than jumping into the Atlantic!
