This is the third time we have stayed in the Sun Park apartments, our fourth time in Playa Blanca, and have even brought relatives with us this time.
Although basic, it is ideal for people who just want a relaxing holiday. The accomdation was fine and the staff very helpful.
We did not eat in the restaurant very often, once or twice for breakfast, as we prefer to sample the various restaurants in the resort. Lani's in the marina was a favourite, particularly with the children as they could play quite safely and look at the fish in the marina.
The entertainment in the Sun Park was poor, especially in the evening. During our visit, there were lots of Spanish visitors and these were primarily catered for.
Playa Blanca itself is a beautiful place, ideal for young families and for people who want to relax, like myself. The beach is beautiful and safe, even in the evening. There is a beautiful promenage to walk along, which leads to the harbour and passes plenty of restaurants and shops.
A very pleasing resort and would recomend it to anyone.

Me and my Boyfriend went to Sun Park Apartments for new year 2007. It was a cheap, late deal off the internet and we were self catering. The hotel is very nice, big and spacious and very clean. The rooms are nice too, also very big and cleaned every 2 days. The pools were filled, but as it was december they were bloody freezing!!!! although some kids were playing in them all day. The walk to the beach, bars and shops is my only moan. The walk everyday was at least 20 minutes but felt like 20 days.... But once at the beach it was fab! we were really lucky and got sunshine all week, with a slight breeze. The nights are quiet and people seem to just walk and eat, there are no loud bars or music. On new years eve, we found an irish bar that had a live singer and then music after, which we really enjoyed. At 12 o clock, the hotel on the beach had a magnificient fireworks display. Overall this holiday was really nice, but a little quiet and a bit too far from the beach for my liking.

“Traffic too close for comfort.”

First visit to Lanzarote and no expectations.
As our bed- room was backing onto the road, the traffic-noise was very loud in the early morning and late at night. Avoid these rooms as your sleep will be disturbed. Our room was 209.
The room was clean and tidy but the taps in the bathroom were loose and not attached properly to the basin. We had a minor problem with lack of hot water on one day and no water for part of another day.
Also the wind blows very hard at night along the side of the rooms by the road. Our window was badly sealed and created a high-pitched banshee- like wail which woke us most nights.
Avoid rooms on this side of the apartments. We also found that noise seems to carry from rooms on the top and on both sides. Conversations can be heard very easily !!!!
Could not find the semi- heated pool.
The restaurant provided cheap food but not of a high quality.
The trees surrounding the pool area were attractive and well tended by the gardeners every day. The Apartments are five minutes walk from the Supermarket and 10-15 mins from the sea-front restaurants. Most are off the main street of the town? but if you turn left at the Princesa Yaiza and go towards the Marina Rubicon you will find Lani's Restaurant on the Marina overlooking the water.Give it a try, you won't be disappointed !
Also great value in car rental at the Princesa Yaiza, from the Cabrera Medina stand in the foyer. We paid 80 Euro for three days, no fuss and just returned the car- key to Hotel reception.
If you are visiting only ONE place, try to see the Green lake at El Golfo and then go to the Volcanic Centre at Timanfaya. For 8 Euro you get a bus tour of the Volcanoes and excellent food at the restaurant ,which sits on a Volcano - the floor is hot to the
touch!!. A great day out.

we stayed at sun park for new year. the room was very clean and the maid service excellent. the grounds of the hotel were very nice.we booked the holiday on a bed and breakfast basis. however, we only managed to eat breakfast 3 times out of 7... we gave up as the standard was very low. the juices were vile, the cooked food disgusting !it was ok if you wanted bread and fruit. the lift to the apartment was dirty and very old..... i stepped inside once but used the stairs for the rest of the holiday.... not a bad thing as any exercise is better than non !!

overall we had a great holiday in playa blanca. the sun park apartments were ok and were good value.....however having looked around the sun royal next door looked nicer.

Coming home from a sun drenched holiday is never easy and if i feel this bad i must have had a great holiday i thought to myself. Well in truth i did sadly Playa Blanca is not the most lively place for a family with two kids in November and after reading all the reviews of SunPark and Playa Blanca before i left i can assure anyone reading them that i found most if not all to be in some way accurate. Sun Park has six German reps who for some reason spent the whole two weeks avoiding the only two children over 5 in the whole hotel. My two boys Nicholas 11 and Nathan 9 waited and waited for just one of them to approach them night or day and they would have done anything the reps wanted sang danced etc but nothing. Anytime we went to the entertainment they sat front row quietly alone and they got nothing not even a lollipop which were often handed out to the younger children (yip they were German). I would not go all inclusive in this place if i got it free but you might like it. The walk to the beach and main resort is not that bad but after a few days it gets very tedious day in day out same road same traffic flying by at what feels like 100mph. Food in the main resort is okay a bit like if you go for food really hungry you will say oh my god that place is great i will be back go for food but not so hungry you wont go back no frills you want chicken you get it simple . Just as an example i ordered a chicken kebab for 15 euros i got 2 scewars of plain chicken some chips and wait for it cabbage and broccoli i ate it and left no frills. We had some great days in the pool which thankfully was deserted cannot imagine what it would be like in peak season it got busy with only 3 couples in it and us , beach days were great to . Overall i would not go back to sun park again or for that matter Playa Blanca saying that i have never went back to the same place twice so if you are going remember Everyone is different and one mans paradise is another mans hell.
