hello, my partner, my 3 month old daughter and myself have just returned from a week long stay at the lavris hotel and bungalows. We stayed in the bungalow part of the hotel (believing there would be more room than in the hotel, not exactly accurate.) and our board was half board. The hotel room was always very clean with clean bedsheets and towels on a daily basis. All the staff were extremly friendly and in my opinion they made the hotel. However the young owner comes accross as a bit arrogant! Pool area was nice and great for our little girl as there were plenty of shady retreats, entertainment was very poor and the advertised childrens club did not exist. I am glad we visited the lavris hotel and bungalows while our daughter wasn't old enough to be bored. Ok now down to the serious problem, the food. Take a christening buffet and mix it up with cheap, cold and stale! hey presto thats the cuisine served up. The food was always cold and lacked any flavour. We didn't even bother with breakfast and our evening meal was forced down, us often resorting in going elsewhere. If I had paid to go all inclusive I would have been furious as half the food on offer was fit for dogs scraps. So other than the awful food, lack of entertainment and slightly unfriendly owner, all was ok, nice staff, good crowd of people that contributed to a lovely time and nice clean bedroom and grounds. Area of Gouves I found to be pleasent, quiet the lavris end but only a five minute walk and the resort has alot more to offer, some shops on the tacky side others very nice, few good bars and some lovely food imparticular the two chineses. Would I stay again at the Hotel Lavris and Bunalows? If a cheap deal, SELF CATERING came up then I would definatley consider it, but no way on a half board or all inclusive basis!

Lavris Paradise was a disappointment. I booked 4 star all inclusive and can only repeat the views of previous visitors:The food frequently did not rank a 3 star rating in my opinion, a regular fan of mainland Greece and the islands. It was poor in terms of choice, quality and temperature - always cold during the two weeks spent there. At 2 lunchtimes, chips and meat were reheated in a microwave in the dining room by the waitress until frank discussion with the manager ( eventually on several occasions), who was urging the chef to make improvements, but burnt scrambled and uncooked boiled eggs remained the norm to the end of our holiday. Also disputed provision of ice cream for children UNDER 12 years, and only served to all inclusive guests 16.30 -18.30 (initially only a choice of two flavours). Poor range/ quality of free "local drinks" in all inclusive range ( red wine not included). Invited to join their Easter celebration lunch for an additional 12 euro per person. This was served an hour late, and paying guests were segretated from the Greek guests, and served different food!!!!!!!
No activities for children or entertainment (which had been advertised) until the last 2 nights, when a young Slovakian attempted a quiz (lasted 15 minutes tops), and some card tricks the following night.
Acommodation acceptable, staff - the best thing about the hotel.

its the second time we visit that hotel and we received the same great hospitality. we stayed at the old part of the hotel which wasnt bad at all! our room had sea view and we also could use the 4 star hotels facilities for free. the food was a bit too "greek" and too oily, we've enjoyed it but unfortunately the kids settled down with the sandwiches at the bar... it was really easy for us to move around as we have been there the previous year. my advise; if you are a family of 4 dont book a bus for your transfer, the taxi from the airport is 20 euros! just try to chat with the owners, its a really nice family and the boys will help you a lot if you are british, as they've both studied in england. they told us that we could take back to england almost as much fags as we could and they were right!! we took more that 8000 cigarettes back home and we had no problem at all!! and all that for just 25 euros for 200! half of our holiday free!!

Having read the reviews people had written on the lavris, i was dreading going there. On arival we were meet by a very friendly man at 6.15 in the morning and shown to our room.It was great right by the small pool. We went to breakfast, no problems apart from the food being on the cold side. The food in general was ok not what i would class as a four star hotel buffet but ok. The staff were friendly and overall the only thing that let this hotel down was the food.Met some great people who made the holiday.
