Stayed for one week in May. First time in a campsite as an adult, there with wife and young children. Stayed in Vista caravan with Keycamp. We tried camping as an alternative to the usual package beach deals that we needed a change from.
The site is easy to find and this seems to be a not to highly populated part of France. We drove from Bordeaux airport in about an hour. Next time I will ignore the satnav that was intent on taking me into the Bordeaux ring road. Easier, more pleasant drive to simply head West from Bordeaux and then track down to Sanguinet. The staff of the company that we used to book the caravan were good, and the caravan itself was well specced and everything that was meant to be there was, and worked. Go for AC though, we did and were very pleased about that decision.
There is a good little supermarket on site. A small premium for groceries but reasonable. They have fabulous fresh baguettes, croissants etc. A 4 mile drive back to Sanguinet get you to Intermarche supermarket - medium sized. Go to Biscarrosse to Super-U for the weeks shop; it is quite massive. There is a spciality wine shop on site. The guys that work there are great but some of the wine was not brilliant- maybe I am too used to the predicability of New World wine.
Tehre is also a restaurant and pizza shop on site. Pizzas were great.
Facilities excellent. Several pools and chutes. Lots for children up to 10. For the older onces then go to the beach (onsite) for surfing, windsurfing and bascially about every watersport I could think of. The beach there is very safe. you can walk 200m into the water and it is still not above waist height. Also means that the water warms up quickly. It is also sandy beyond the first 15m as so easy to walk on. If you want to try windsurfing I could think of no safer place.
We were there in low season and so the park was quiet. It would be a different experience in peak season but probably still good but of course more noise. We will probably return though or now that we have tapped into the Keycamp style holiday, we might try a few other palces over the coming years. One of the best holidays we have had.
Biscarrosse Plage is a must for a visit. We also went to La Coccinelle farm park - brilliant and the Cafe du Lac restuarant in Sanguinet - for me the best bit of the holiday. Seperate reviews will be added for those.
