“Stunning Apartments in a Stunning Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed here in mid September in a 2 bedroomed apartment. The apartment was stunning with every mod con we needed ,great air con, DVD player, dishwasher ,microwave , cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, the list goes on...................
The apartments are set up on a hill and the views are wonderful. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful . A car is essential if you want to get around and the under ground parking is well worth the small daily charge, especially if you have been shopping, but there is free parking if you prefer. There are 2 decent sized swimming pools and some smaller pools for kids, but get to the pool early if you want to get a sun lounger! There isn't a bar on site, but there is a lovely bar/restaurant just a short stroll along the sea front. The reception has a small shop , but a just a few minutes drive into Torrox and you will find a great selection of supermarkets, the staff at reception will advise you on the best. The beaches at Torrox may not be as sandy as some may like, but its only a 10 minute drive to Nerja, where the beaches are sandier( but busier) ..
Torrox market is well worth a visit for those all important souvenirs and the caves at Nerja are a must see. The Torrox Costa is a great place to visit in the day or evening , lots of bars and restaurants. The Caribe restaurant is a great inexpensive place to eat and the staff there are lovely. The village of Torrox is only a short drive into the hills and is simply beautiful with some lovely places to eat. All in all a great holiday in a stunning apartment in a great location. Cant wait to go back .

“Great Appartments”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Very modern new smart appartments and nice grounds, stayed first week of november, had full sea view you have a great view but block 3 which overlooks the pool as well loses the sun in the afternoon think block 4 gets sun most of the day, as previously mentioned no kettle but everything else supplied including wasing machine tumble dryer and dishwasher, we paid for 1 bed but got a great two bedroom with large balcony and two bathrooms which are very smart and modern with twin sinks in the ensuite. The beach is 200 yards down the hill and over the main road which you dont hear much, not much else in walking distance main town is about a mile and a half away. Great beach restaurant about 15 mins walk"Pepe Oro" which is cheap and cheerful menu is in english but no one speaks it the tinto de la casa (red wine) at 5 euros is great value and a fab paella for two at 14 euros means two can eat and drink for 20 euros, Beach is black sand but clean and showers on the beach. To be honest torrox in november is a ghost town we were amazed that late afternoon every one dissapears and a lot of the town beach bars are shutting at 6-7 o clock. But the appartments for families with the pool and beach just in front would be great but a car is essential.

Room Tip: block 4 gets more sun

“Great apartments with lovely views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

We stayed at the apartments for 12 nights in early October and were really impressed with the quality of the accommodation. There was no kettle in the apartment and also very few English TV channels available when we first arrived. However, we mentioned this to reception and were provided with a kettle and also somebody retuned the TV so that there were dozens of English channels to watch. The apartment was extremely spacious and well furnished and as a bonus the weather was fantastic during our stay. The pool area is well maintained and the pool is a good size for serious swimmers and is relatively quiet first thing so you can enjoy an early morning swim. We were in block 6 and the balcony was in shade after mid-day but this was not a problem as we were out most days until late afternoon when it was very pleasant to sit in shade overlooking the Med. We would highly recommend these apartments and although they are situated between Nerja and Torrox access to both towns is extremely easy by car and there are beach cafes/restaurants within walking distance, although it is quite a steep walk back to the apartments when you have left the main road.. There is a small shop attached to reception which has fresh bread everyday and some other basic foods.
We had a fantastic holiday and would hope to stay at these apartments again when we return to the area.

Room Tip: For sun worshippers ask what time the balcony is in shade from

“Great views but could be better equipped”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Great views and very comfortable apartments. You would need a car to get groceries etc. My main problem was that they did not provide a kettle. As a tea drinker this necessitated boiling water in a pan a bit like camping! This side of the rental was really a bit lacking which was a shame because everything else was of a nice quality. The beds were very comfortable. However if you wanted to watch TV and you werent German you were in trouble everything was tuned into German TV so no joy for the english speakers here!!!

Room Tip: You could park for free on the street and WiFi is about 3 euros a day.

First of all I would like to thank you for taking your time in reviewing Fuerte Calaceite. As part of our policy our guests satisfaction is vital and we try to improve our services in order to meet or even exceed their expectations. In response to your review I would like to point out that all our apartments have kettles in the kitchens and in case they are missing we have some in stock at the reception. Also in the past we had several complaints that no English channels were available so we recently installed new satellite dishes in order to view the open SKY channels as well as German and Spanish ones.

I do hope that you had a pleasant stay and I would love to welcome you again at Fuerte Calaceite.

“fantastic apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

we stayed here in early September 2011. The apartments were superb, with wonderful views of the med. Everything is up-hill, so if you have mobility problems you will need a car. We didn't have a car, and used the local bus service 1.05 Euro's to Nerja and Torrex Costa. We also used public transport to go to Alhambera in Grenada - very easy to use and surprisingly cheap.

Vincente at reception was absolutely wonderful, couldn't do enough to help. The apartment facilities were also exceptional.

I would definately recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet to relax and chill out. If you want a bit of night life, a taxi into Nerja was only 6 Euros, so we didn't bother with car hire. Walking down to the beach is ok, it's coming back that is the problem!!! As I said, it is all up-hill, and also the security took a little bit of getting used to. If you have a car you have direct access from the underground garage to your apartment.

There is a very nice cafe/bar on the beach approximately half a kilometere from the complex.

The complex is a bit isolated, so if you have teenagers you may want to look at somewhere a little more central (Nerja).

We thoroughly enjoyed, as we were looking for somewhere 'away from it all'. I managed to read 6 books in 10 days - which says it all really. Not much to do here, so really depends on what you're looking for.

The most perfect place to relax.

Room Tip: all rooms have an excellent views, I would choose block 3 in future
